Wheel Chocks to Secure Trailer while Loading Heavy Equipment
Updated 03/17/2015 | Published 03/14/2015 >
Question:
I have a tri axle equipment trailer Im building. When loading heavy equipment on trailers like this,Ive had the tractor push the trailer and truck. Do you have a brake controller with a parking brake function or do you have another means of activating the trailer brakes while loading equipment? Ive used a stick on the brake pedal before.... But Im hoping for a better solution as I put his trailer and truck together. Thanks for all the info and parts you have on your web site... Its very helpful

There is no brake controller with a parking brake function. Your best bet is to find a buddy to step on the brake pedal for you when loading equipment. You should also chock the wheels with wheel chocks like MaxxTow # 337WC1467A. This MaxxTow solid rubber wheel chock, weighs about 8-lbs so it will definitely tend to stay put better than a lighter plastic type. It also includes an eye bolt to which you can tie a rope for easier handling.
