Question:
I have a 2009 Nissan frontier 4.0 that I tow with heavy. I will be replacing the radiator due to possible future leak issues. This truck also has a stock auxiliary transmission cooler in front of the radiator. I am thinking of adding another cooler. Should I replace the oem cooler with a fan powered cooler? Should I add one next to it? I am also thinking of an engine oil cooler. Is that a good idea when towing? How about a combo cooler next to the existing cooler? Can multiple coolers be installed in line like that? Please advise me of the best possible way to protect my tranny and engine when towing. Oh I also definitely want a tranny filter kit with thermostat wired into cab to monitor temps. Oh also is the derale combo cooler with fan on a thermostat that turns it on at 175 temp? I didnt see that stated anywhere. Thank you,

As long as you have room for it I would recommend keeping your factory transmission cooler and then installing a Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler with Multiple Threads # D15902 upstream of it. The cooler has dimensions of 17" Wide x 12-1/2" tall x 3/4" deep.
The sandwich adapter is thermostatically operated so that your engine oil will be able to get to operating temperature before it opens.
The part # D15220 that you mentioned is another option as well. This comes with a fan, you will need to get the # D15752 as an install kit as well. This does come with a thermostatically controlled sandwich adapter. This would be a good option if you don't have room to install the other cooler I mentioned in front of your radiator. Since this has a fan you don't have to worry about mounting it where it can get airflow.
For a temperature gauge you would want the part # D13009 for a manual gauge. Or to tap in to the PCM of your vehicle and view the temp using the sensors already present in your transmission you would want the Insight Monitor part # EP84130.
