can a thule basket be mounted on a 2015 ford escape s with no roof bars just slots////????? with out drilling or bolting

The Thule Canyon cargo basket # TH859XT is going to require crossbars. Most baskets are going to require crossbars with some only needing side rails that run front to back.
For a model with a naked roof you would have to add a roof rack. The most economical roof rack is from Rhino-Rack using the following parts:
Aero bars # RRVA137B-2
Feet # RRRLKVA
Custom clamp kit # DK375
Another option is to use a bag on the roof. There are some bags that do not require a roof rack at all. The most popular option is # RL100S30. To avoid running straps through the interior of the vehicle you can add car clips # RL100600. I also recommend protective pad # RL100650 to help keep the bag from sliding on the roof.
Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual and/or Ford for the roof weight capacity prior to loading.
