Troubleshooting Kodiak 225 Trailer Brake System that Keeps Breaking Calipers In Half

Question:
What causes a brake caliper failure Broke in half 4th time. Kodiak 225 system with 10 inch rotors.Tandum 6K axles 235/85R16 6 by 5.5 bolt center wheels.Titan brake II pump. They always break on the right side. System worked great for 4 years, then started having problems. Have a picture but cant up load. I am using a Maxbrake Controller.

I spoke to my contact at Kodiak about the issue you are having and he said that sometimes if a trailer braking system is doing way too much of the braking the pressure can get too high for the calipers and they can break (not brake). He said that the trailer's brakes are designed as a supplement for the vehicle's braking and they are not intended to do the majority of the braking for the towing setup.
