Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the bullet door latch for RV screen doors. Now this is going to be a replacement for a broken or damaged latch for your RV screen door. As you can see it does have these two pins going through. You'll want to make sure that you leave those in place whenever you're actually installing this, those are kind of guide pins to make sure that everything lines up properly.
I'm going to take these guys apart here and you can kind of see how this latch mechanism is going to work. So there's a spring inside this little cylinder and that's going to push that angled piece into our striker. So, that's where it keeps our door in place whenever we're using our screen door. We can pull on this catch and that's what's going to open up that screen door from the keeper here whenever we want to separate our entry door from the screen.So that's kind of the idea there is that we'll have the ability to open up our doors and keep them together like you see it here or use this portion to just open and close that screen door and keep it in place. It comes with the hardware you see laid out here.
So you can keep everything together and get everything installed properly, also comes with that striker plate.As far as the whole unit, it's about three and five eighths inches long total. This portion is going to be mounted on our screen door and that's about one and a quarter inch long. The handle going all the way out again is three and five eighths. From top to bottom it's about one and three eighths inches across for that bracket and then the other side it's about one and a half inches by about two inches. Striker plate is about one and three quarter inches by three quarter inches.And that's pretty much going to do it for our look at the bullet door latch for RV screen door.

This part fit, and worked, but broke after less than a year. Contacted etrailer and was redirected to the manufacturer. I would have to send in the broken part before I could get a replacement. As I was traveling in Newfoundland, this was not a simple matter. After paying $[XX] to ship a broken part, to get a $[XX] replacement, it just wasn't worth the hassle. Seems like they could make a replacement a little easier.

Still working fine after a year!
This kit said NOT FOR AIRSTREAM. If you rivet the latch to the door it is fine. You just can’t use the long screws.
