Easily raise and lower this custom-mount snowplow from the comfort of your cab with the remote-controlled electric actuator. Shock-absorbing springs pivot the blade forward if you hit an obstruction. Rubber snow deflector keeps snow from blowing over the top of blade and onto your windshield. Red visibility markers help you identify the corners of the blade in low visibility. The blade's hardened steel edge breaks up thick ice and compacted snow. Skid shoes allow you to adjust the height of the plow, so you can efficiently plow over uneven surfaces.
To mount the Rampage II Elite snowplow, first install the vehicle-specific mounting brackets on your vehicle's frame. Next, flip-down the caster wheels on the snowplow and roll the plow into position in front of your vehicle. If necessary, adjust the wheel height to match the height of the installed mounting brackets. Then maneuver the cross-member frame so that it slides into the custom brackets and secure it in place with the hardware provided in the bracket kit. Lastly, flip the caster wheels up into the stored position.
Once the plow is mounted on your vehicle, lower the blade and set it to the desired angle. To set the angle, manually position the plow straight ahead, to the left, or to the right. Angling the blade allows you to push snow off to the side without having to change the angle of your entire vehicle. This is especially useful when piling the snow straight ahead will create a barrier.
The wireless remote allows you to stay out of the elements while controlling the plow. Because it's wireless, you won't need to run wires through your dash to mount a control in your cab, nor will you have to leave your window cracked during a snow storm so you can run in a wired remote.
To begin plowing, drive forward at a safe speed of no more than 10 mph. When backing up to take another pass, be sure to lift the plow with the remote, then lower it again before moving forward. When approaching a large pile of snow, decrease your speed to avoid damaging the plow. Slamming into a dense pile of snow can void the warranty on the Rampage II Elite.
When you are finished, put your vehicle in park and lower the plow. To remove the plow from your vehicle, flip down the caster wheels and slide the snowplow out of the mounting brackets. Then roll the plow to a storage area.
The electric actuator on this plow allows you to lift and lower the blade using either a toggle switch that installs in your cab or the included wireless remote control.
To raise the plow, use the switch or remote to activate the actuator. as the actuator moves along the internal screw, the arm on top of the actuator will pivot, raising the plow blade by pulling the chain that is attached to it. this simple, chain-lifting design has fewer moving parts than other plow-lifting devices, so the setup is less complicated and there are fewer parts to have to repair or replace.
This actuator lifts and lowers the snowplow blade smoother than an electric winch. in addition, fewer amps are required to run an actuator than to operate an electric winch, which means that the solenoid on the rampage ii elite will last twice as long as the solenoid on a plow that uses a winch. there is also a built-in clutch that prevents damage to the actuator if you try to raise the blade too high or drop it too low. the electric actuator is built to withstand extreme temperatures and wet conditions with its completely sealed gearbox and housing.

So it was not for another two weeks that a dusting came in where I could try it out. Worked okay, but not enough snow to really tell. So a couple of weeks later, mid-February, we were to get another "dusting" so I did not bother to hook up the plow. Next morning there was about 4" on the ground and more coming in sideways. After shoveling a small area to move the plow into place I was able to hook it up in a couple of minutes. I share a driveway with my neighbor so it is about three cars wide and the top of it is street level the bottom is at basement floor level with a 40 degree hill separating the two. I have the blade mounted on a 1994 Grand Cherokee sitting on Wrangler Radials. In four swipes I had 90% of it done and off to the sides. The rest was minor cleanup with a shovel. Then I took it to my office where I have a parking lot about 60 feet by 150 feet. After that big snow storm noted earlier I used a snow blower for about an hour to get maybe 1/3 of it cleared. The Jeep and plow blade had that sucker cleared down to the pavement in about 10 minutes. Should have had one of these years ago.
These brackets were a pretty rough install on my 1998 Grand Cherokee. Before you crawl under your Jeep make sure you take these to the grinder and knock some of the powder coat off of the pins that go into the frame rails, otherwise no amount of hammering will get them in there. Other than that, they seem to be holding up pretty well and I am plowing on an uneven dirt driveway. The whole plow system has taken a decent amount of abuse so far.
Great plow, easy to use and reasonably priced. However, do not go with the DK2 plow lights. Nobody seems to know what wire harness kit you need for your truck and DK2 will not help you. Thank goodness the rest of the plow is quality or you probably wouldn't get an answer from them just like they never returned multiple emails or calls regarding a wire harness for their plow light attachments. I like the plow but cannot back the company for lack of supporting their products and consumers.
I love my Summit II Plow. I have it on a 2000 Jeep Wrangler. I was unsure if my Jeep could handle this size plow, but it handles it very well. With my Jeep I can plow my driveway easier than a pickup with the short vehicle/wheelbase turning and maneuvering in small places. Installation was pretty easy with the custom mounting brackets. The only problem I had was the shoes being too short. I replaced them with Item # 3371303002 at etrailer and they work fine. I live in Minnesota where we get plenty of snow and this sure beats plowing with an ATV which I used before I bought this plow.
