Blue Ox Acclaim Non-Binding Tow Bar - Coupler Style for 2" Ball - Car Mount - 5,000 lbs
While the quality of this units seems excellent, and it is a good price, I was unable to use it in my setup. I Bought it to go with the Blue Ox base plate for a 2014 Chevy Spark. That base plate sets the tow bar connections 23" above the ground. This tow bar requires a 7" rise from the base plate connection to the hitch. Meaning 30" above the ground at the hitch. In my rig, this would require a hitch riser of over 12". I have no complaints about the tow bar, however, it is not a good option with the 2014 Spark Blue Ox base plate.
Everything as advertised. Followed the videos and instructions for installing the base plates and tow bar and all were good. Did a test pull today and it towed great, straight as a dye. I only have 2 suggestions. There was no mention in the video of the space plate, which was included. Figured it out. Second suggestion, Install a 2" ball on your work bench and adjust the receiver to it. The instructions tell you what socket to adjust it with but that could have been done on the bench before shipping. Great product, so excited. We are off on a few hundred mile trip with the Fit behind the motorhome Wednesday. So excited. No more tow dolly.

Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar - Coupler Style for 2-5/16" Ball - Car Mount - 6,000 lbs
This tow bar with the base plate and rock guard is the finest set up I have seen for towing a rig behind a RV. Combined with the patriot brake system and magnetic light system makes me ready to go in style with safety. I'm a happy boy!
I bought the RM baseplate for my jeep because they may an adaptor for the Duncan tow bar. I got the Duncan on craigslist and it looked great. But I didn't know that I needed a DUNCAN quick release kit. It wasn't on it. The RM quick release only attaches the RM Duncan adaptor to the baseplate. So learn from my mistake don't buy a used Duncan unless you are sure you have all the parts. I out $200 for very nice looking hardly used but worthless Duncan tow bar plus the return shipping for the RM 038 and RM 021. The only solution to this was to buy the RM-501 tow bar which is what I should have done in the first place. It is very well made and easy to stow or remove. How much are they getting for scrap metal these days.
