Thule Passage Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Hanging Style

I just assembled it and put it on my Dodge Grand Caravan last night. Took about a 5 mile ride with it this morning to see how it was doing. Seems to be fine. I've tightened all straps as tight as possible. The side clips seem to have a little play along the sides of the hatchback door but everything appears and seems to be solid. Even with the straps tightened all the way, you can still move/pull on them a bit, because they are nylon, so even though they seem to be secure now, I will check them at different intervals to see if they are retaining their hold. The sway bar option was a nice addition and I also cut some Velcro straps to tie down both wheels and the handle bars from swinging. Another nice surprise was that I was still able to open my rear van door with the bike rack attached. I would say, all in all, this is a great sturdy design and as long as I use due diligence to watch for any loosening of the straps over time, I should be just fine!
Thule Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan
Today on this 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Raceway PRO 2-bike rack, Part Number TH9001PRO. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How it attaches is going to be three points of contact with your bike's frame. We're going to have two straps up at the top here plus one off to the side which is going to act as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from swinging too far back and forth hitting either the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Also we have this integrated cable lock which you'd wrap around the bike in the front and snap into this area here for added security. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside.
Saris Bones Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan
Today on this 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be test fitting the Saris Bones 3 Bike Rack. Part number SA801. As you can see we already have the bike attached to the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this bike attaches is it's going to have three points of contact with the bikes frame. We're going to have two straps up top here and one off to the side here, which will act as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test fitting the Thule Passage trunk mounted two bike rack, part number TH910XT. Keep in mind when using this bike rack, the rear wiper may not be used. With the fit dial set to number 11, according to the included instructions, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's rear hatch. Now, the bottom portion of the bike rack should rest on the upper tier of the bumper and the top portion of the bike rack should rest at about the middle of the rear window. With the bike rack in position we can take the top clips to put to the top part of the rear hatch, the side clips to the side part of the rear hatch and the bottom clips to the bottom part of the rear hatch. We can then tighten down the straps to secure the bike rack to the cargo door. Once everything is all tightened down and secured we'll go ahead and secure the excess slack. Now, we're ready to load our bike, we'll simply undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles and then secure it with the straps and with our bike all loaded up, that'll complete today's test fit for the Thule Passage trunk mounted two bike rack, part number TH910XT, on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan.
Thule Gateway Trunk Mount Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan
Today, our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan will be test fitted with a Thule Gateway hatchmounted two-bike rack, part number TH9006XT. Keep in mind, when using this bike rack, the rear windshield wiper may not be used. With our fit dial, according to the included instructions, set to number 11. We'llbegin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's rear hatch. The bottom portion of the bike rack should rest on the upper tier of the bumper as well as the top part of the bike rack about the center of the window. We'll then take the top clipsand hook in the top portion of the rear hatch, the side clips to the side portion of the rear hatch and the bottom clips to the bottom portion of the rear hatch.

Well place the bottom portion of the bike rack on the upper tier of the rear bumper and the top portion of the bike rack at about the center of the rear window. Well take the side clips to the side part of the rear hatch and the bottom clips to the bottom part of the rear hatch.
Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Caravan
Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top Trunk Mounted 2 Bike Rack for vehicles with spoilers part number HRF2. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up on to the vehicle's rear hatch. Now there are three sets of black levers, we'll first start with the middle set of black levers to adjust the fit to rear door we'll then clamp it down in position and then using the top set of black levers we can adjust the top portion of the bike rack making sure the silver bar is high enough over the spoiler. We'll then clamp the black levers down to secure it in place. We'll now go ahead and put the top clips to the top portion of the cargo door, the side clips to the side portion of the cargo door and the bottom clips to the bottom portion of the cargo door. We can thentighten down the straps to secure the bike rack to the vehicle. Once all the straps have been tighten down we can then secure the excess slack.

Today, on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Gordo trunk-mounted 2-bike rack for bicycles with long wheelbases, part number HRG2. Keep in mind when using this bike rack, the windshield wiper may not be used. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's rear hatch. We'll flip out the two black plastic levers on the left- and right-hand side of the carrier to adjust the bike rack to fit the vehicle's rear hatch. We'll then put the top clips to the top part of the hatch, the side clips to the side part of the hatch, and the bottom clips to the bottom part of the hatch. We then can tighten down the straps to secure the bike rack to the vehicle.

Today, on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Baja trunk-mounted 2-bike rack, part number HRB2. Keep in mind when using this bike rack, the rear windshield wiper may not be used. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's rear hatch. We'll put the bottom portion on the rear hatch just below the license plate, and we can then flip out the black plastic levers on the left- and right-hand side of the carrier to adjust the top portion to fit the rear hatch. We'll now loosen up the straps to put the top clips on the top part of the hatch, the side clips to the side part of the hatch, and the bottom clips to the bottom part of the hatch. We can then tighten down the straps to secure the bike rack to the vehicle. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, we'll go ahead and secure the excess slack.
