B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2"
I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab, 2WD, 4.7L V8, with the Big Horn Package. This is a good hitch. I didn't need this much of a hitch. I only needed a 600 lb. tongue weight hitch but I figured better safe than sorry. It was the most hitch for the money and now I don't have to change the hitch if I get a bigger camper. I will never need a hitch with this kind of capacity. The install was very easy with one exception... There was no frame drilling required, but there were two steel dowels welded to the frame that supported a tail-pipe hanger and one got in the way and had to be removed. I was hesitant to do this, but the exhaust is still remarkably stable even with one of the supports cut-off. This hitch seems like the most hitch for your money and I know that the hitch will handle more than my truck is rated for so there is no worrying if my hitch will hold up.
I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. I had one issue while installing...there are two exhaust support bars that welded to the frame and one is in the way of the side plate. I just cut the inside bar and the install was very simple install afterwards. There are no exhaust issues with cutting the one bar. The hitch is a little heavy so if you can get assistance, that will help but not needed.

Solid construction, bolts right onto the frame with no drilling. Unfortunately B&W didn't make the smart engineering choice of having the mounting plates have square holes (and corresponding square slots at the top of the bolts), so you'll need to ensure that you have an additional 3/4" instrument to stop the bolt from spinning as you tighten the nut. Overall, the convenience of not having to drill my frame massively outweighs the poor mounting design, but I was still able to accomplish the install in a couple hours by myself.
I decided to try this B&W receiver hitch on my 95 Dodge Ram 2500 after discovering that another well known brand was not going to bolt right on. The B&W had enough distance between the mounting brackets to clear the downward bent lip on the Dodge frame. Installation was straightforward after removing the spare tire and oem Dodge hitch. I assembled everything loosely and set it into position before snugging up the hardware and doing the final torque. The hitch seems well made. The tab for mounting trailer wiring is a nice feature. My only little nit pick is I think some of the frame mount hardware could have been 9/16" instead of 1/2" where it goes through the 1" holes in the frame with the large backing plates. I don't plan on towing more than 10,000 lbs so it will probably be fine.

"No drilling required for installation Hitch is designed for vehicles with a standard factory bumper On most Dually trucks, the spare tire will no longer be able to be stored under the bed and will need to be relocated" This is not the case, you have to drill and even on my single axle dodge ram you have to re-locate the spare. The receiver is sturdy and easy to install though just need etrailer to change the description. Make sure you go and buy a 1/2" drill bit ment for steel so you don't have to go out and buy on in the middle of the project.
Absolutely love the install process and the look of this hitch. I installed it on my 1989 V30 Crew Cab. Took all of 10 minutes. My only complaint is how it arrived to my doorstep. Not sure if it’s how these things are shipped or if Shipping dropped the ball but it seems like an easy way to lose parts if you ask me. Only stating this in hopes Etrailer can make a note of it happening.

Well made hitch, fit well on my 97 F350 DRW with a DMI bumper. Install went well, only thing that hindered me upon installing was the directions noted to use a certain hole in the frame but if I would of done that the hitch would of been recessed too far in and wouldn't be properly aligned. Thankfully I just used a hole further up and all was well, only reason for a 4/5
I have a 79’ w400 dodge dually and went to numerous hitch stores none of which offered this hitch “ class5” unless they “special “ ordered it and the wait would be at least 2-3 weeks! BS. So I got I line and found B&W, ordered it, was delivered to my door in 4 days. Easy mounting. Already pulled my usual heavy load. Very happy with my experience. I’m ordering my next one soon as well. Ty B$W for no BS

"Great service- ordered hitch, $50.00 cheaper than local store & arrived in a week. Hitch fit perfect & took about 20 minutes to install- saved about $150.00 on parts & labor doing it this way. Great experience- highly recommended."
