Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Slider - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs
My Curt A16 5th wheel trailer hitch with the R16 slider have turned out to be just what I needed for my truck and trailer. I have a 2017 Ram 2500 short bed pick-up. To start with I had an adapter in the bed of the truck which stands about 2" tall which I had purchased used and reconditioned. With the Slider and the Hitch installed on the adapter and the hitch set at it's lowest setting the unit is the perfect height for my 5th wheel. I pull a Cougar 23MLS 5th wheel. As I stated my Ram has a short bed but with the setup I have and the front of the Cougar being styled as it is, I have never had to use the slider when pulling the 5th wheel or when parking it. Even though I have never needed to use the slide, I'm glad that I have it due to the fact that it makes the set-up the perfect height for my trailer and maybe some day I might get into a spot where I might want to use it. As with any short bed pick-up I do keep a sharp eye on the trailer when backing up to park but so far I have not seen the front of the trailer getting really close to the cab of the pick-up at any time. Between the Hitch on the 5th wheel and the dual jaw of the Curt Hitch I get a really smooth ride going down the road. When I get to my destination I don't feel like I've been on some wild ride going down the road. To date the best Hitch and Trailer that I have ever had. Wish I had some pictures to share but do not have at this time.
I received my new hitch, slider package and puck system legs for my Ram 2500 and had it installed in about 2 hours. Backed up to my camper and connected with no problems once I got the camper king pin at the correct height. I like the overlapping jaws on this hitch much better my old hitch which didnt overlap. This just feels more secure. The hitch released and uncoupled with no problems. I'll be taking a trip with it soon and will know more about how it feels with 11,000 pounds connected to it but for now, very happy with my purchase. I cant submitt my review without adding some kudo's to etrailer and their customer service team. I had ordered a different hitch but had second thoughts as to it being a good match for my truck. One call to customer service confirmed my thoughts and i had a different system on order and delivered in 3 days. Awesome team.

Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs
I was fully expecting a hitch in excess of 100 pounds to show up in a destroyed box. This did not. They had taken the Time and effort to cover the box with an additional layer of cardboard and it must have had a million staples in it. It was almost comical, you will need a crowbar or large screwdriver to get it open. However, when I did finally get the package open I found a perfectly un scratched hitch with no missing parts. I have not pulled with the hitch yet but , it does look like it is going to perform great. I'm using this in a 2006 ram 2500 4x4 short bed pulling a 2015 forest river Salem and it allows 91 degrees of turning due to the clipped corners on the front cap of the trailer. I will be curious to see how long the rubber isolators last before needing replaced and if they are readily available. Also the curt sticker on the hitch was peeling off when I took it out of the box, would be nice to get that replaced.
We had this installed in our 2014 RAM 2500. We have only pulled the 5th wheel a couple of times but this hitch has worked very well. Hooking up and unhitching is very easy and straightforward. I like the colored indicator system that tells you when the hitch is locked on the pin. The head unit has rubber blocks where it is mounted to the base unit. This allows the head to rock side-to-side when you are parking the trailer on uneven ground. It also allows the trailer to rock slightly as you are pulling it and the movement of the trailer is not transmitted to the truck. However, it is kind of difficult to separate the head unit from the base because the rubber blocks fit very tightly in the pockets in the base unit. A little WD40 helps. At this point, based on our limited usage, I would definitely recommend this hitch.

Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs
The hitch is great . The only problem was shipping. When the order arrived the outer box was extremely beat-up. Upon opening, the inner box was so damaged it was not reconizable...the styrofoam was in pieces and the hitch paint was scratched-up. It was treated VERY badly in shipment...I took pictures and was going to forward to you but my phone crashed and that's when I learned my cloud back-up did not include my photos. I needed the hitch immediately for a trip, so I just installed it and chalked-it up as bad luck. With all that said, I owned Reese before but the Curt just seems more substantial
Two boxes del by UPS in good shape for the weight, I installed this myself, while still boxed I lifted into my Ram 2500 to handle easier, installed into my pucks then assembled the rest, went very well, the label they want you to put on driver side you can’t even read, let alone while holding in hand, we will be heading to the mountains of Colorado soon, we’ve always had a bumper pull till now, I’m sure this will work very well, this is 20K double jaw, thank you

Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R20 Slider - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs
Overall a great experience. I love the Curt 20A fifth-wheel hitch. Easy to hook and un-hook my Columbus 320RS. Very quiet ride too. One issue; the hitch arrived in 2 boxes and both were beat up pretty bad. That resulted in some paint damage to the unit which I touched up right away. I highly recommend the hitch and etrailer.com.
Very satisfied with this hitch. Smooth lockup and slides fairly easy. The only issue I had which is not a problem with the hitch itself is that it does sit a little higher than expected. This is in part due to that I am using the Ram factory prep kit, which requires an adapter. I am using Curt's adapter (C16022) which does add about 2-3 inches to the overall height of the hitch. The only other thing which has nothing to do with the functionality of the hitch, but may be something to consider, is how it mates up to the adapter. The rails for the slider stick out awkwardly, which you can see in some of the pictures. Your situation may be different, but overall, this combination works very well together. Not to mention, etrailer's customer service is great. Purchase with confidence.

Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs
Have been waiting for a 5th mount for my 2014 RAM that wasn't over priced. The price point is great and the mount is much better than I thought it would be, for quality. I was able to install it in under an hour. The manual that came with it was clear and easy to follow. BTW Ashley , the person I spoke to on the phone realy knew what she was doing and what questions to ask to make sure I bought the correct hitch and would be happy with it. Thank You Ashley!
I have this hitch in a 2016 2500 Ram 6.7L diesel. I am pulling a 12,000 lb 5th wheel and don't have the chatter that I had before with a different hitch. This is a very strong hitch. The only negative that I have on this hitch is that it is difficult to close the hitch jaws when the hitch is not in use. It anyone else has had the same problem and has found a cure for this please let others know what you are doing. Happy towing.

Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 25,000 lbs
I was happy with the transaction with etrailer. The website was very helpful in finding what I needed. The product was received ahead of the committed date. The only problem was with the packaging. Some of the boxes were pretty beat-up and the parts were scratched with the finish damaged. That was a little disappointing.
Excellent customer service. Hitch arrived on time in perfect condition.
What our customers are saying:
"These arrived yesterday and are EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thanks for the excellent service!"
