Absolutely!
Starting with the trailer hitch for your 2020 Mazda 3 Hatchback, the Curt Hitch # C98BR will work perfectly. This will line right up to existing holes in the frame rails for a simple bolt-on (no-drill) installation and features a 200 pound tongue weight capacity.
I have attached the written installation manual below that you can look through as well. All the necessary hardware is included.
Then for a Class I rated bike rack I highly recommend the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU74FR.... view full answer...
I have a great tire chain solution for you. Unfortunately, we do not carry a Konig CG9 model like the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Profile Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - CG9 # TH2004205105 that will fit your 225/40-18 tires or the OEM size of 215/45-18 on your 2009 Mazda 3.
However, if you are concerned about protecting your rims, I did find a model that will fit both tire sizes that includes the same outer covered band as the CG9. That is the pewag Servo RS Self-Tensioning... view full answer...
The Swagman XTC-2, part # S64670, won't be able to carry a 40 pound bike. The weight maximums of the racks are very much set in stone, as the location of the weight of the bike changes the physics of the bike rack's ride and can cause damage if exceeded.
Instead, I recommend the Swagman's Chinook, part # S64683. This rack adds a few features to the rack and an increased capacity to 45 pounds. Specifically over the XTC-2, it adds integrated hitch and bike locks, tilt away and fold up features... view full answer...
If your 2014 Mazda 3 does not have the fixed mounting points, I recommend the Rhino Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack. This system consists of # RRVA126B-2 for the two 49 inch Vortex Aero Crossbars, # RRRLKVA for the 2500 Series Legs, and # DK406 for the Custom DK Fit Kit. This will provide an extremely quiet roof rack system with a weight capacity of 165 pounds.
If you find that your vehicle does in fact have fixed mounting points, you can use the same crossbars and 2500 Series Legs as above,... view full answer...
Yes the Curt # C98BR is a fit for your 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback with the rear diffuser. I attached a picture of this hitch installed on a similar Mazda 3 that has the same the rear diffuser. view full answer...
Both vehicles you are looking at have a trailer hitch option that would work for a bike rack.
For the 2023 Mazda 3 Hatchback you'd need the Draw-Tite # 24984.
For the 2023 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport Touring you'd need the Draw-Tite #24954
Both of these have 1-1/4" receiver openings so you'll have no problems carrying a bike rack like the Thule Easy Fold # TH903202.
The # 24984 on the Mazda 3 is going to be quite a bit easier to install, as it bolts to the bottom of the frame where... view full answer...
The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # KU84FR comes with a tamper-resistant bolt that tightens the carrier to a 2" receiver and you need to use the included security wrench to remove or install. So it technically does come with some sort of a locking device, but for more security to deter theft you can add Hitch Lock for Kuat Bike Racks - 2" Hitches # HL2. This will do a better job of actually locking the bike rack to the hitch receiver.
Make sure you have... view full answer...
As your 2021 Mazda 3 is the hatchback version, you will need the Curt # C98BR. The other hitch that comes up ( # 24982) will be specific to the sedan model, so it will not fit your vehicle. With that said, this will be rated up to 2,000 pounds towing and 200 pounds of tongue weight, so it will definitely handle the trailer you are looking to tow.
The Tekonsha # 118808 wiring harness would have been the one I was going to recommend so you are good to go there. Though one wire will need... view full answer...
I wish we did but we don't have any anchor points that can attach to the round bars that are on top of the Yakima OffGrid Roof Cargo Basket # Y07138-08 so you might look into a ratchet strap setup that you could wrap around the entire basket and hook back to the opposite hook of the strap like the # 34414. view full answer...
For a cargo box I recommend using the Yakima SkyBox 21 Rooftop Cargo Box - 21 cu ft - Black Carbonite # Y07337. This will easily clamp onto your Yakima Jetstream Crossbars. This fits a crossbar spread of 24"-42". Both your 2018 Mazda 3 and 2016 Honda HR-V have a crossbar spread of about 32" according to Yakima, which tells me it will work well for you. You will, however want to verify fitment by measuring from the center of one crossbar to the center of the other crossbar on your vehicles;... view full answer...
Between all of the bike racks you mentioned I'd prefer the Yakima Fullback part # Y02634. The Fullbak is considered to be on the higher end of the trunk rack quality/feature spectrum yet they aren't that crazy expensive so the value for these two racks over the Saris Bones # SA801BL and especially Thule Gateway # TH88VR makes it the obvious choice.
If you plan on carrying any women's or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat... view full answer...
Hatch-mount bike carriers for your 2018 Mazda 3 Hatchback are available in 2-bike and 3-bike capacities. No 4-bike trunk racks are made since they would simply be too heavy for a car's sheet metal trunk or hatch.
If you can get by with a 3-bike capacity then the rack I recommend is the Thule OutWay 3, part # TH56BV. This USA-made carrier is among the best trunk racks made. It features molded nylon construction that is strong yet lightweight; built-in locks are included for the rack itself... view full answer...
The hitch I recommend for your 2018 Mazda 3 for carrying a bike rack is the Draw Tite part # 24914 because unlike the Curt hitch that fits your vehicle part # C11377 it does not require the use of a stabilizer strap when carrying a bike rack like you mentioned wanting to do.
For a bike rack the Thule DoubleTrack part # TH92BJ is what I recommend. This is a platform rack which means it much easier to load and unload as well as holding the bikes a bit more securely. What separates this... view full answer...
I'd go with the Yakima LoadWarrior part # Y07070 as the front and rear bar of the basket can be used as a roof rack to attach a rack designed for round bars like bike racks etc.
Aside from that the two are very similar dimensionaly and weigh about the same. view full answer...
For the 2022 Mazda 3 hatchback we have the Curt hitch part # C98BR as a confirmed fit. The part # 24982 only fits the sedan models. view full answer...
The recommended cargo bag for Curt cargo carrier # C18145 is etrailer Cargo Bag # e98990. The bag is 40" x 20" x 20" so it would have to be tucked in. It secures to the carrier with straps so even if the carrier was larger than the bag it would not come off the carrier as long as it was properly secured. view full answer...

The best way to carry a bike with your 2022 Mazda 3 hatchback is by installing the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver # C98BR and using a hitch mounted bike rack. These racks tend to have higher weight ratings, more/better features, and are much easier to install compared to a roof or trunk mounted alternative.
Then if you don't already have a bike rack I highly recommend checking out the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU64FR because it's extremely easy to use and install,... view full answer...
For your 2017 Mazda 3 Sedan I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X7303 due to it having a 2" trailer hitch receiver which offers quite a few more options when it comes to bike racks and other accessories.
The other two trailer hitch receivers available, the Curt # C11377 and Draw-Tite # 24912, are Class I receivers with 1-1/4" receivers which really limits the bike racks available as not all 1-1/4" bike racks work with Class I receivers.

For the 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback we only have the 1-1/4 inch hitch available like the Curt # C98BR. For lower capacity vehicles the heavier duty 2 inch hitch size just isn't available. You'd most likely need an e-bike rack designed for this hitch size like the Thule EasyFold XT part # TH903202 which is one of the nicest e-bike racks available. view full answer...
For your 2018 Mazda 3 I highly recommend the Yakima JetStream Roof Rack. This system consists of the two 50 inch JetStream Crossbars in Black Aluminum # Y00425 , the SkyLine Towers # Y53TR, and the Landing Pad # Y00248.
The Landing Pads and Towers for this system are made to mount directly to those factory points you mentioned on your 4-Door Mazda 3 and its low-profile design will provide a sleek appearance along with contributing to an extremely quiet ride. It has a weight capacity of... view full answer...
