I definitely see the logic in drilling holes in the mounting bracket of the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver - 18"-51" Wide - 2" Drop - Class III - 2" # C13701 versus the frame of your RV, however it isn't that easy. If you were to move the bracket attachment holes, then you would minimize the weight capacity and stability of the trailer hitch receiver as well as void the warranty on the hitch.

To wire a 6-way trailer connector to your motorhome you are going to need to use a circuit tester like the handy Cordless Circuit Tester # PTW2979 and match the connector to your wires by function.
