The intermittent function of the left side turn signal on your trailer with the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness # C56673 installed on does sound like the result of a loose connection or a bad/weak ground. The first thing I recommend doing is using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the 4-Way connector on the Monterey. Test each pin while you have a buddy run through the light functions in the van. If all the pins receive appropriate power with the corresponding light function activated... view full answer...
On your 2005 Mercury Mountaineer, if it came with a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector then the brake controller port will be located behind the glove compartment. If it came with a factory 4-Way then the brake controller will need to be hardwired in using # ETBC7.
For a brake controller I recommend the P2 # 90885 because its easy to set up and use. For a wiring harness the correct one is # 3035-P. view full answer...
The Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer have 6-pin connectors behind the glove box on the passenger's side that you would use for the installation of a brake controller with the # 3035-P.
I attached an install video that shows where it is as well. view full answer...
You made a great choice! The e2 Weight Distribution Hitch, # FA94-00-1000, is a sturdy system that has 2-Point Sway Control and comes with a 10-year warranty. The unique design of this system does allow you to back up without having to disconnect the sway bars.
Don't give your friends a hard time, though. Many weight distribution systems have independent friction sway control devices that do require you to get out of your vehicle and remove the device prior to backing up. Your e2 system,... view full answer...
You are testing correctly for the left and right turn signals, but the 3rd female plug you are testing is the taillight circuit. If you turn on the running lights you should get 12 volt power at the connection that the brown wire runs into.
To test the brake lights at the trailer connector you need to apply the brakes and test the connectors that the green and yellow wires go into. These are the same connections that you tested for the turn signals.
Trailer wiring combines the left turn/brake... view full answer...
The trailer wiring harness you reference, Draw-Tite # 118251, is intended for the Mercury Mariner that is equipped with the factory tow package (but will not fit vehicles with backup sensors built into the rear bumper).
For your 2009 Mercury Mariner without factory-installed tow package the correct wiring harness is Tow Ready # 118551. This part uses a powered converter that draws its power directly from the vehicle battery. It plugs into your Mariner tail light wiring and requires no... view full answer...
The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13503, would be a great choice for your 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis, as long as there is room in front of the radiator and ac condenser for the cooler to mount. Measure to be sure before purchasing, but most likely you will have plenty of room.
The best tip I can give is to do some research on your vehicle. Check the radiator fittings and see if there are NPT (national pipe thread) fittings or Inverted flare fittings. Your vehicle... view full answer...
The Curt trailer hitch receiver for your 1997 Mercury Sable is the Class II # C12232. If the rust can be sanded off and the hitch repainted, then it is likely still structurally sound. The best way to have them evaluated is to have a trailer shop inspect them. I would err on the side of caution and replace the hitch if you don't feel comfortable using it.
If the hardware needs to be replaced, you can use # RHK then select c12232 as the model number and purchas the kit, then purchase... view full answer...
If the black wire on your 2001 Mercury Mountaineer is the 12V power wire from the vehicles battery you will want to connect that wire to the terminal at the eleven oclock position on the back of the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow Trailer Connector, part # HM48470.
When wiring the Hopkins connector to your vehicle I would recommend to use a circuit tester like the Quickee Tester, # 3808 to test the functions of the wires and wire the connector by function and not just color.

If you do not wish to retain the factory backup sensors on your 2008 Mercury Mariner then you can use the 4-Pole Hardwire Kit with Circuit Tester part # 18252 instead of the Tow Package Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector part # 118251.
In order to do this you will need to cut off the connector that attaches to the backup sensors and splice the above harness into those connections using the included circuit tester. The backup sensors and tow package wiring are on the same connector.... view full answer...
It sounds like you have a Class I hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11329 on your 2008 Mercury Milan. A Class I hitch like this will have a maximum gross trailer weight of 2,000 lbs and tongue weight of 200 lbs. You will also need to know the towing capacity of your vehicle and will be limited by whichever is lower. Assuming the weight of your boat and boat trailer do not exceed the capacity of your vehicle or hitch, you will be able to tow it. view full answer...
You will need to relocate the exhaust pipe hanger on the passenger side to accommodate your dual exhaust on your 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis. There is a hole in the plate bracket of the Curt Hitch # C12130 that will allow you to do this.
Aside from that you will need to drill holes in the frame of your 2002 Mercury Grand for the mounting hardware to secure this hitch to the vehicle. view full answer...
On your 2008 Mercury Mountaineer there should be a wiring harness that is attached to the 4-way wiring near the rear of your vehicle that has the brake controller wiring. This is the wiring that you would connect the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole # 37185 to.
You would plug your 4-way into the # 37185 and then wire the brake controller output circuit to the blue wire, the auxiliary 12 volt power to the black wire, ground the white wire, and then run the purple to a reverse lockout circuit if... view full answer...
The Reese Sway-Control Bracket, # RP26003, is 3/8 of an inch thick so you will need a hitch ball that has a shank long enough to fit through the ball mount and the sway-control bracket and still have enough threads left to install the nut properly.
The etrailer.com Drop Ball Mount Kit # EBMK4 has a shank that is 2-1/4 inches long. Since at least one thread needs to be visible beneath the lock washer and nut once the ball is screwed into place, part # EBMK4 should work well for your application.

I recommend the Curt Class II 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # C12232, for your 1997 Mercury Sable. This hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 3,500 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 300 lbs.
You will need the recommended ball mount, part # C45522 and will also need a hitch ball like the Tow Ready 2 Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19258, For a wiring harness, you will use the # C55343 if you have a Wagon and # HM40565 if you have a sedan. The yellow fuse holder starts out as a closed loop. You will need to cut it in half. One end connects to the power wire you ran from the wiring harness. The other end will connect to the positive battery terminal. Inserting the fuse should be the last step.
Take a look at the video I have linked at about the 3:40 mark that shows our installer putting in the fuse holder. I have included some additional links that will help with installation. view full answer...
I will happy to walk you through installing the Upgraded Circuit Protected Taillight Converter Hardwire Kit, # 119178KIT, on your 2002 Mercury Villager.
First, you will need access to the wiring behind both taillights. This may require removing some panels in the rear cargo area and screws on the taillight housings. Once you have access to the taillight wiring, you will use the included circuit tester to find the right wires to connect to the harness.

If your 2005 Mercury Mariner has side curtain air bags then you will want to install tracks # THTP54 further in (towards the middle) on the vehicle roof to avoid interference. The wiring for things like the dome light are more or less in the center of the vehicle so you would not worry about that unless you wanted to put tracks in the middle of the roof.
To avoid drilling you could use a custom roof rack using the following parts:

Feet # INSUT
