Is There Anywhere to Avoid when Drilling Roof of 2005 Mercury Mariner to Mount Roof Rack Tracks

Before I begin drilling, are there areas in which I should NOT drill? I just a bit nervous about this drilling thing.

If your 2005 Mercury Mariner has side curtain air bags then you will want to install tracks # THTP54 further in (towards the middle) on the vehicle roof to avoid interference. The wiring for things like the dome light are more or less in the center of the vehicle so you would not worry about that unless you wanted to put tracks in the middle of the roof.
To avoid drilling you could use a custom roof rack using the following parts:
CrossBars # INB137
Feet # INSUT
Fit Kit # INK193
