We actually brought this up to TorkLift and they said the lock core is not replicable, so they don't even offer them. If you can hear the motor moving when you hit the switch then it's probably the gear box. To replace it you would want the Replacement Gearbox for Venture Aluminum Electric 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Assemblies item # LC276602.
You will also want to check your switch. If you can't hear the motor you can use a 12V battery to get power to the wire that signals the gear to extend. If it does extend with the 12V battery, the issue is the switch and the replacement you'd need is item # LG-145236. view full answer...

If your breakaway kit isn't hooked up properly I suppose it could give that "trailer disconnected" code on your brake controller, but it would have to be that the wiring going to your brakes is disconnected on the circuit somewhere for that to happen.
I think you have some damaged wiring or a bad connection somewhere that needs to be fixed - this could even be where your trailer 7-Way plugs into your vehicle 7-Way socket.
