When a heavy load or front-mounted gear causes your front end to dip, steering and braking can feel off. These SumoSprings helper springs add up to 800 lbs of support at 50-percent compression to keep your ride level and steady. They help your factory suspension handle extra weight so your steering feels consistent, traction improves, and your headlights stay correctly aimed.
Road chatter and front-end bounce make long drives tiring. These microcellular urethane springs compress easily under light loads for a soft, smooth ride, then firm up as the weight increases. That progressive load control cushions bumps and shocks while keeping handling predictable whether the truck is lightly loaded or carrying something heavier up front.

When a curve or uneven load tries to throw you off balance, each spring works on its own to keep that side planted. This independent action helps reduce body roll and sway so the vehicle feels more stable through corners, crosswinds, or rough approaches. It also evens out off-center loads for more balanced handling.
These springs are made from high-density microcellular urethane that resists abrasion, oil, salt, and UV damage. They work in temperatures from -25°F to 200°F and compress vertically with minimal side expansion, so nearby parts stay protected even in tight spaces. Unlike air systems, there’s no tubing or air pressure to maintain—just solid, maintenance-free support that keeps performing season after season.
Designed for a custom fit with no drilling required, the kit includes two jounce-style springs ready to bolt into place. Once installed, they quietly go about their job—leveling your ride, supporting heavy fronts, and giving you a steadier feel behind the wheel without the hassle of adjustments or upkeep.

Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs for your front axle. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 1994 to 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 four wheel drive trucks, also fits the 2011 and newer Ram 2500 and 3500 four wheel drive trucks. And on a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website.
Use the fit guide, put in your year model vehicle and it'll show if this'll work for your application. Now these helper springs will upgrade your vehicle's front suspension for improved driver control and comfort. They'll support any heavy front end loads to keep your vehicle level and they'll help to absorb bumps and shocks, help minimize sway. They do offer progressive load control, which means the springs will compress according to the weight of your cargo. So if you have a lighter load, the springs compress easily at first for a nice soft engagement and less bumpy ride. And if you have a heavier load, the springs will compress by as much as 80% for support.
These springs do work independently from each other to compensate for off center loads, help reduce body roll during any sharp turns. And they are made of a durable microcellular urethane. This urethane will work in temperatures from negative 25 degrees Fahrenheit up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and this will resist damage that can be caused by oils, road salts and UV rays. They do offer minimal lateral expansion, meaning the springs will compress vertically instead of to the sides so that they aren't easily damaged when operating in tight spaces. And of course they are maintenance free. There's no tubing to run or air pressure to monitor like with air springs.
These are a simple no-drill installation. Basically after removing your factory jounce bumper from the vehicle, these will install into the factory jounce bumper retaining cup. It does come with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how these do install. Does include the two jounce style springs. If you notice, one of them has a notch to it.
That is for the driver's side. That will tell you that in the instructions. This part is made in the USA. A few specs on this, the weight capacity at 50% compression is 800 pounds. And a note, these SumoSprings will not increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity. But that should do it for the review on the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs for the front axle.

Appreciate you leaving a review Austin, It's always nice when a product exceeds expectations and these springs have been highly rated. Are you typically off road or do you plan on towing?

I have experienced a much better ride when not towing. I boon dock a lot and keep my 150 gal. bladder in the bed. The springs reduce the bounce on the front when a heavy load is in the bed which is the normal function and it is a noticeable difference from preinstallation.
