When you’re hauling tools or gear, nothing beats the peace of mind that comes from solid protection. The RetraxPRO MX uses heavy-duty, 1" thick aluminum slats that resist dents and impacts, keeping your bed and cargo safe from falling debris or attempted break-ins. The matte black finish is scratch- and weather-resistant, so it looks sharp and stays tough through rain, snow, and sun. With a 500 lb evenly distributed weight rating, it can even handle snow load without sagging.
Getting full bed access shouldn’t mean fighting with straps or snaps. This retractable cover glides open and closed effortlessly on sealed ball-bearing rollers, so it won’t bind or tilt even in harsh weather. There’s no need for lubrication, and the spiral track system in the canister keeps the cover from rubbing against itself while rolling up. The pop-up handle makes it easy to move with one hand from either side of the truck.
Sometimes you need to carry long items while still keeping other gear covered. The built-in locking handle lets you secure the cover at any point along the rails, so you can leave space for larger cargo while keeping smaller items protected up front. When closed, the handle locks flat and hides beneath a lid, deterring theft and keeping dirt out of the keyhole. Combined with a locked tailgate, it forms a tough barrier against prying hands.
Rain, snow, and dust don’t stand a chance. Weather stripping and foam seals line the edges to block moisture and debris, while a tailgate overlap keeps water from seeping in at the back. Two included drain tubes route any water from the canister through existing bed holes, keeping the retracted cover dry and preventing mildew.
The RetraxPRO MX sits just 1" above the bed rails for a streamlined appearance that complements the truck’s lines. The canister’s angled bottom saves space underneath, leaving more room for cargo. Installation is straightforward—just clamp the rails in place without drilling and connect the pre-assembled canister and drain tubes. Once it’s on, you get a sleek, secure, and durable retractable cover built for everyday use.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover in matte black. You can upgrade your old tonneau cover and not have to worry about any snapping or hook and loop connections. The RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover is the best way to cover up your truck bed. One of it's great features is, it can be locked anywhere along the rails you please. It's perfect for keeping your gear dry, covering up that fifth wheel head and you can even use it to secure your elongated cargo. The latch itself doubles as a handle. When you're ready to lock it, it sits flush within the cover and you can lock it up with the included keys.
When you've done that you can put the cover over top. The whole thing rolls up into the flush mounted box for a low profile design. It only takes up about 12 inches of space behind your cab. It's a simple clamp on installation and the rails only sit about an 1-1/4" high on top of our truck bed rails. Here on the inside they take up about 1-3/4". The sealed ball bearing rollers within the cover make opening and closing easy.
And because they're sealed, they're maintenance free. The whole thing is made out of an industrial strength aluminum, it's gonna keep out the elements and it can support distributed loads of up to 500 pounds. When used with the locking tailgate, it's furthers your security. The whole thing is UV protected and it features a limited lifetime warranty. It's an easy no drill installation, it simply attaches to your truck bed rails with the provided clamps. And that's going to complete our look at the RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover.

After about a year owning this cover, I still would buy it again. If you set it up right in the first place, it will work flawlessly. The locking mechanism still works great. The rolling part still works great. Aside from a solid cover, this is the most secure cover I have ever had. It does get some drips of water inside after washing the truck but its not enough to worry about, even if you had a bed full of stuff.

So on the plus side, love how it opens all the way up. When were loading the bed for travel, I need it fully open. Downside is the amount of room the canister takes up and the water as previously mentioned. Still quite easy to use!

Honestly, unclear instructions are exactly why we started making our own install videos many moons ago, because seeing it done can make all the difference.
