Get excellent traction in extreme conditions. Grooved links and ladder pattern provide traction for your wide-base tires in snow, ice, and mud. Reversible design allows for wear on either side for long-lasting chains. No levers or cams to come loose.

Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if they might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.
These pewag ladder-patterned chains are great winter weather chains for your SUV, truck, or 4WD vehicle. Not only do the grooved square links dig into deep snow and ice better than rounded or standard square links, but the reversible design of these chains also allows them to wear under standard use much longer than other chains. And if you're partial to American-made products, you'll be happy to know that these are made in Colorado.
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing these chains is simple.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.
2. Drape the chains over your tires, making sure that the prongs attaching the cross chains to the side chains face away from your sidewalls. Drive forward about half a tire rotation.
3. On the back of the tire, pull the chain tight and hook the ends together. Repeat this on the front of the tire.
4. Drive forward 2-3 vehicle lengths and recheck the chains tension. If needed, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be used to get a tight fit. Make sure the hooks on the adjusters face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.
Quick Tips:
To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

Today, we're gonna be telling you all about the Pewag all square snow tire chains. What sets these apart from some of the other chains is these are gonna give you around 32% more traction than some of the competitors. And what gives it that is the massive links that we have. This is seven millimeter links. So, they're very, very big compared to some of the other ones you have options of on our website. So, these are gonna be made of a manganese nickel alloy steel.
That's kind of a standard across the board. But these can go on or off road. So, whether you're on the road or off the road, you're gonna be good. This isn't gonna give you the most amount of traction, compared to some of the V-bar style chains. Those are gonna be a little bit more aggressive but you might start to chip up your garage floor if you install them before you go out.
So, be mindful of that. We don't really have a whole lot of contact with the wheels. I mean, if we did have some heavy, heavy snow down at the latch, this might go and hit the wheels. So, just keep that in mind. There are some other ones that will be a little bit more protective, but, regardless, it's gonna take a lot to really get these chains to go and cause some damage to your wheels.
They do come in a pair of two, so, we can put these on the drive wheels in the back. But if you have a four wheel drive model, you can do that as well. But always just triple check your owner's manual. They do come in a big bag, so, it's not gonna be tough to get 'em back in there. This is a thicker canvas.
Some of the other type of bags, they kind of crack over time, but some actually have carrying cases, which is a little bit better. But I do think that this is gonna hold up throughout the years that you use it. It's pretty small, so, you can just throw it in the back of your truck, underneath the seat, or even just in your toolbox. Regardless, it just does come in a pack of two, so, grab as many as you need. When it comes to chains you just want to get unstuck. And these are gonna be a great middle of the road to get you that extra traction but not really tear up your concrete. And that's pretty much everything about the Pewag all square snow tire chains..
Great product. Great service.
Fit was great. Extra chain was easy to secure.
Solid heavy duty chains!
Pewag always has a great product and these are no exception. Perfect fit on my CAT 262 skid steer. Etrailer had them delivered in just a couple days even though we're in the remote Sierra Nevada's. Great experience.
I have tested these in my driveway they fit excellently they lock solidly onto the tire and each other with the additional tensioner there's no way they could come off I have not used these on the snow yet as I bought them for a trip across the country during February I have not encountered the chance to use them and I hope I don't lol they are real quality product. I cannot speak to the durability as I have not been able to use them yet
Nice set of heavy duty chains for my 3500 HD. They fit well on a 275/70/R18 BFG KO2. 2nd link in back side of tire and 2nd link on the outside of the tire.
First set of chains broke in a month. Replaced under warranty. Second set of chains broke in a couple months. Didn't bother to replace them because I feel bad about doing it twice
Very sturdy construction, build quality is excellent. better than the product was the service provided by etrailer, i was in contact with Carol C. who kept me informed of the status of my order and also followed up after delivery of the chains
Estimated ship time from eTrailer was inaccurate since the product turned out not to be in stock; had to wait an additional week before delivery.
However the chains did fit my 2015 RAM 2500 Power Wagon with stock tires (Duratrac 285/70-17) and wheels. The rear left parking brake cable is VERY close (~1/2 inch) from the chain, so I had to use a zip tie to keep the extra links from slapping against the cable. There was plenty of clearance up front and on the rear right. Glacier rubber adjusters (PW99) are necessary to remove chain slack.
I had to use both sets of chains to leave from my elk hunting camp in CO. Lots of snow and mud. Chains were fairly easy easy to put on and take off and worked flawlessly. The square links really bit into the ice, no slippage involved. I work in remote areas with heavy equipment and bad roads and everyone uses Pewag chains and loves them. Not cheap, but worth every penny.
These are the best chains you can buy. Easy to install, durable and have amazing traction into any surface. This is my second pair so I can run on all 4 tires for deep snow and ice. Make sure you have proper clearance
I’ve used them probably 4-5 times in a year. Got me through 18” of wet spring snow in my truck and took a beating, held up great. I love the turnbuckle mechanism.
These arrived, and I put them on in the garage to test fit, and they appear to be perfect. I had to buy two sets, to cover front and rear tires. My tires are 33x12.50x15, and at some point I plan to move up to 35x12.50x15 and understand these will cover those tires too.
So I expect to be covered in extreme ice conditions.
Very easy to install at home in the garage. I did also purchase the orange chain tensioner's, and they work nicely too. But I really may not need them, as I was able to get these very snug by using 3rd and 4th tightening links. I watched the video that explains how to stack the loose links so they don't flop around too much.
etrailer was a pleasure to work with, products arrived quickly.
Chains work great on snow and ice in harsh Montana winters. Easy to install, but I wish they came with a retention system for the excess links at the connection points. I just use a small bungee to secure them and prevent them from hitting brake lines and wheel liners. Used with heavy duty rubber spider tensioner.
I got these chains for my 3500 Ram with 10 ply E rated Hankook I-Pike winter tires size 245-75-17. I had first ordered PWE3210S that the manufacturer said would fit, but the chains were a few inches too short. Vanessa at E-trailer worked with me and she was in contact with Pewag numerous times to ensure a proper fit on the second set of chains and they fit perfectly. I really cant believe how good of customer service these folks at E-trailer provide, outstanding!!
I am pleased with these tire chains. There are easy to hook up and tighten down well. I have yet to break a link. They are not any more noisy than any other chain. When breaking they do not tend to slide. When using the chain adjusters, there is no banging of excess chain on the vehicle. shipping was fast and well packed. Would purchase again. Highly recommend the chain adjusters.

fine, no problems or breakage
Heavy duty and fit was good on my Tundra. Easy to put on by laying middle over top of the tire and attaching link on bottom.
Have purchased this item before, very satisfied. fast delivery, packaged well arrived when stated and in good order. Would order again.

After a year of owning these chaims, I am very pleased. I take them with me whenever I travel in the winter months. They have not failed me yet. I will replace them in the future when and if they fail.

I used the chain while visiting Sequoia Natl Park in Feb. I wasnt easy putting the chains on like the video. Also, Glacier Multi-Arm Tire Chain Tensioners didnt fit. They were way too short. Chains did fit eventually, but with lots of effort, and did provide good traction.
very sturdy chains and fast delivery!

One year later the chains are working well, they did come loose once even with the proper blue colored spider type rubber tightener. Luckily I caught it before any damage was caused. I check them regularly. I would definitely recommend these chains for off pavement usethats all I use them for..
