Get excellent traction in extreme conditions. Grooved links and ladder pattern provide traction for your wide-base tires in snow, ice, and mud. Reversible design allows for wear on either side for long-lasting chains. No levers or cams to come loose.

Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if they might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.
These pewag ladder-patterned chains are great winter weather chains for your SUV, truck, or 4WD vehicle. Not only do the grooved square links dig into deep snow and ice better than rounded or standard square links, but the reversible design of these chains also allows them to wear under standard use much longer than other chains. And if you're partial to American-made products, you'll be happy to know that these are made in Colorado.
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing these chains is simple.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.
2. Drape the chains over your tires, making sure that the prongs attaching the cross chains to the side chains face away from your sidewalls. Drive forward about half a tire rotation.
3. On the back of the tire, pull the chain tight and hook the ends together. Repeat this on the front of the tire.
4. Drive forward 2-3 vehicle lengths and recheck the chains tension. If needed, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be used to get a tight fit. Make sure the hooks on the adjusters face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.
Quick Tips:
To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains for your guys' wide-base tires on our 2020 Chevy Tahoe. What we have here is a ladder pattern style chain, so we're not going to have chains linking these two sections going across our tire. So, this isn't going to be the best for turning and stuff like that. I usually dislike having chains that have a little piece connecting these two here, but that's just me. They're still going to do the job. What makes these different from some of the others is just the massive link size that we get, about 5.6 millimeters, so these are going to be pretty beefy. As you guys can see, it does stick out a decent amount, especially compared to those twist links.
Twist links do tend to be a little bit more snug to your tire, but we have plenty of wheel well to work with here, so this is definitely going to give us excellent grip to start and stop, of course. And I just think that we're not going to have any issues with it hitting our wheel well. They do come in a pair of two, and Pewag does have a pretty good canvas bag, nice and thick, so I don't really think that these are really going to rip. If they do, it's probably after a couple of seasons of you guys using them. But they come in a pair two, but if you guys plan on putting on all four tires, just grab two of the same exact bags here, and you'll be able to put them on all four.Looking more so into it, we don't have a lot of chain in front of our rim. That's something I look for, just because even if it's just the OEM rims, they look good, and if you guys actually end up spending more money on aftermarket rims, you want to make sure they stay safe.
These are going to stay safe just because there's no metal that is even remotely close to the rim of the wheel. So, that's definitely a plus for me, just because I like to protect my investment. The only thing that will be in front of it is a rubber tensioner, but it's rubber, so we don't have to worry about that. It is made of a manganese nickel alloy steel, so it is going to resist against rust and corrosion to hopefully get you guys seasons and seasons of use with the chain. So let's just go ahead and show you guys how easy it is to install.First things first, just lay out your chains.
Make sure there's no kinks in your links, no knots or anything like that. And then there is one thing we need to take into account, and that is these little hooks here. This is going to be the more abrasive side, just because of this open face, and on the other end it's going to be a little bit smoother, so we want to make sure the smooth side's going to be facing in towards our tire. And of course, we want this lever to be on the outside so we can access it. Once we figure that out, just grab your chains in the middle, do your best, and then drape them over the tire, making sure it's not sagging too low over our rim.
It shouldn't be too close. And then we want to make sure it's nice and even right and left, and if it is, then we're going to go ahead and go around back and make our first connection. One of the two sides, we're going to have some extra links, and on the other side, we're going to have a hook. I'm going to go ahead and just use whatever link is best. I do suggest you guys doing this in your garage first before we get into the instance where you're going to have to need these chains, just because there will be a right link to use that'll get you the best fit on your guys' tire. So, I'm going to go ahead and meet you guys around front and we're going to make our second connection.Around front, pretty simple stuff. Pick whatever link's best, put it through there, and we're going to take this lever, kind of go back and hook it onto that lone link right there. So, a little bit of slack, not a whole lot, but we're not done yet. We're not done yet. We do have rubber tensioners that we do recommend that you guys throw them on just to take out a little bit of that extra slack. This is what the rubber tensioners look like. If you guys just go ahead and scroll down on the webpage you guys are on to the Related Parts section of that page and they should be there. Just click Add To Cart, done deal. The only thing we need to really figure out with these is just make sure that that hook's going to be facing away from the rubber of our tire, just because . it's just we don't want to have any unnecessary damage happen to them, so just face them out, solves all that. And of course, we just want to be as symmetrical as we can to evenly distribute all that tension from these rubber tensioners.Once they're on there, we do recommend that you guys go into the car, put it in drive, roll over them a couple of times, put it in park, come back out, make sure everything's nice and tight still, because they will shift around a little bit after you drive on them a little bit. But once all that's good and you guys check, pretty much ready to go.Well, everyone, that just about does it for a look at the Pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains for your wide-base tires on our 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe.
Great product. Great service.
Fit was great. Extra chain was easy to secure.
Solid heavy duty chains!
Pewag always has a great product and these are no exception. Perfect fit on my CAT 262 skid steer. Etrailer had them delivered in just a couple days even though we're in the remote Sierra Nevada's. Great experience.
I have tested these in my driveway they fit excellently they lock solidly onto the tire and each other with the additional tensioner there's no way they could come off I have not used these on the snow yet as I bought them for a trip across the country during February I have not encountered the chance to use them and I hope I don't lol they are real quality product. I cannot speak to the durability as I have not been able to use them yet
Nice set of heavy duty chains for my 3500 HD. They fit well on a 275/70/R18 BFG KO2. 2nd link in back side of tire and 2nd link on the outside of the tire.
First set of chains broke in a month. Replaced under warranty. Second set of chains broke in a couple months. Didn't bother to replace them because I feel bad about doing it twice
Very sturdy construction, build quality is excellent. better than the product was the service provided by etrailer, i was in contact with Carol C. who kept me informed of the status of my order and also followed up after delivery of the chains
Estimated ship time from eTrailer was inaccurate since the product turned out not to be in stock; had to wait an additional week before delivery.
However the chains did fit my 2015 RAM 2500 Power Wagon with stock tires (Duratrac 285/70-17) and wheels. The rear left parking brake cable is VERY close (~1/2 inch) from the chain, so I had to use a zip tie to keep the extra links from slapping against the cable. There was plenty of clearance up front and on the rear right. Glacier rubber adjusters (PW99) are necessary to remove chain slack.
I had to use both sets of chains to leave from my elk hunting camp in CO. Lots of snow and mud. Chains were fairly easy easy to put on and take off and worked flawlessly. The square links really bit into the ice, no slippage involved. I work in remote areas with heavy equipment and bad roads and everyone uses Pewag chains and loves them. Not cheap, but worth every penny.
These are the best chains you can buy. Easy to install, durable and have amazing traction into any surface. This is my second pair so I can run on all 4 tires for deep snow and ice. Make sure you have proper clearance
I’ve used them probably 4-5 times in a year. Got me through 18” of wet spring snow in my truck and took a beating, held up great. I love the turnbuckle mechanism.
These arrived, and I put them on in the garage to test fit, and they appear to be perfect. I had to buy two sets, to cover front and rear tires. My tires are 33x12.50x15, and at some point I plan to move up to 35x12.50x15 and understand these will cover those tires too.
So I expect to be covered in extreme ice conditions.
Very easy to install at home in the garage. I did also purchase the orange chain tensioner's, and they work nicely too. But I really may not need them, as I was able to get these very snug by using 3rd and 4th tightening links. I watched the video that explains how to stack the loose links so they don't flop around too much.
etrailer was a pleasure to work with, products arrived quickly.
Chains work great on snow and ice in harsh Montana winters. Easy to install, but I wish they came with a retention system for the excess links at the connection points. I just use a small bungee to secure them and prevent them from hitting brake lines and wheel liners. Used with heavy duty rubber spider tensioner.
I got these chains for my 3500 Ram with 10 ply E rated Hankook I-Pike winter tires size 245-75-17. I had first ordered PWE3210S that the manufacturer said would fit, but the chains were a few inches too short. Vanessa at E-trailer worked with me and she was in contact with Pewag numerous times to ensure a proper fit on the second set of chains and they fit perfectly. I really cant believe how good of customer service these folks at E-trailer provide, outstanding!!
I am pleased with these tire chains. There are easy to hook up and tighten down well. I have yet to break a link. They are not any more noisy than any other chain. When breaking they do not tend to slide. When using the chain adjusters, there is no banging of excess chain on the vehicle. shipping was fast and well packed. Would purchase again. Highly recommend the chain adjusters.

fine, no problems or breakage
Heavy duty and fit was good on my Tundra. Easy to put on by laying middle over top of the tire and attaching link on bottom.
Have purchased this item before, very satisfied. fast delivery, packaged well arrived when stated and in good order. Would order again.

After a year of owning these chaims, I am very pleased. I take them with me whenever I travel in the winter months. They have not failed me yet. I will replace them in the future when and if they fail.

I used the chain while visiting Sequoia Natl Park in Feb. I wasnt easy putting the chains on like the video. Also, Glacier Multi-Arm Tire Chain Tensioners didnt fit. They were way too short. Chains did fit eventually, but with lots of effort, and did provide good traction.
very sturdy chains and fast delivery!

One year later the chains are working well, they did come loose once even with the proper blue colored spider type rubber tightener. Luckily I caught it before any damage was caused. I check them regularly. I would definitely recommend these chains for off pavement usethats all I use them for..
