Specs:
The step pad areas in Westin's E-Series round nerf bars are indented instead of cut out, maintaining the structural integrity of the steel tubing and preventing internal corrosion.
As shown in the image above, these step bars have a D-kick-style tubing, which ensures that each bar conforms perfectly to your vehicle. Installation is quick and simple - just bolt the mounting brackets to existing holes in your truck's frame. No drilling is required.

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Westin line of e series round nerf bars. So, whether you're looking for an easier way to get in our out of your vehicle or just add a nice stylish look to them, our Westin e series nerf bars are going to do a great job.Our e series nerf bars are going to come in two colors. We're going to have black as well as the stainless steel. The black ones are going to be made out of steel and they're going to have a powder coat finish. The polished ones are going to be made out of stainless steel and, again, have that polished look to them. Now, both of them are going to be extremely rust and corrosion resistant. The curved ends on the nerf bars are going to blend in nicely with the body, opposed to some of those that just come and abruptly stop. So, they're going to give us a really nice, streamlined look.
They're going to have that classic three inch round design, giving us enough room to have a step on, but not too much bulk to where it's going to add too much to the bottom of our vehicle. Each one of our bars is going to have a step for each entry point, so the driver and all passengers will have a secure footing when getting in and out. Each one of our pads is going to measure 21 inches long by 3 inches deep. It's going to be made out of a durable polymer so it's going to resist UV rays, fading, and cracking. Our tube steps are going to have an indention in them right where the pads are, rather than being cut out, that way they keep their structural integrity and we know they're going to be nice and strong. Our bars are going to be a custom fit, so be sure to check etrailer.com's fit guide for your application. They're going to come with two bars and all the necessary hardware to get them in place. The brackets that bolt underneath are going to be made out of steel with a black powder coat finish, so they're going to resist rust and corrosion as well and, no matter the color of the vehicle, it's going to blend in nicely underneath.A big question you might have when looking at steps is what is the big difference between all of them We're going to have a traditional step which is going to be a single step that typically bolts underneath. Now, the upside to that is it is going to help you get in and out of your vehicle. The downside, however, is is we're going to have to get one for each entry point. Then we'll have nerf bars which like we have here, which is going to be a bar that runs typically the length of the cab and it has a step pad at each entry point. Now, the big benefit of those is that it's one piece and we're going to still have that entry point and a pad to help us get in and out.And then we're going to have running boards. Now, the big difference between running boards and nerf bars is that running boards are still going to be that bar but they're going to to have a pad that's going to run the entire length so including the part where we wouldn't use between the two doors.
Which, that's really going to come down to style preference, if you like the nerf bars or running boards. That'll finish up your look at the Westin line of e series round nerf bars.
Ratings & Reviews
The nerf bars look good, but they are a little too close to the body of the vehicle for your foot. Only your toes can contact them. Other than that they installed easily and are a visual asset to my Expedition.
My delivery was two days earlier than expected which was great. The nerf bars were very easy to install. It took me about an hour to remove the old ones and install the new ones. I am very satisfied with the product and the company. Thank you for a stress free project.
We are increasing in years and the whole idea of installing a running board was to give us an intermediate step to assist getting into our mid-size truck. These bars only sit 3-4" lower than the floor of truck and cannot be lowered. If we could step up that high we wouldn't need the extra help. Plus they are in the way when trying to exit. The only suggestion the installer had was to refer us to someone, and pay $60 an hour, to make brackets that will lower them. They are currently off the truck and laying on the garage floor. Big waste of money for us.
Quick shipping and 1.5 hours after UPS delivered, these were installed. Had to read the directions twice and look at the pics closely, but once I did, it was a super easy install and they look good on the truck. Now my wife can get in after the lift and jump to super singles and 41s.
Exactly what I needed and ordered.
1/2 the price of in store purchase price.
Super easy to install and adds to the look of my truck. Also, the wife loves the assist of getting in now.
The steps are super lightweight, and installed in less than hour with wind and kids running around. Quite simple.
The steps look great, and while they don't offer a huge step down amount, they also don't interfere with my 2016 Tacoma's clearance at all, which is exactly what I wanted.
The black hex screws that secure the steps to the brackets could be made of a higher quality material. The first one stripped (the hex opening) well before I reached specified torque. The others were fine, but I expect better quality control in the future.
Overall, I am satisfied with these steps, and will check back in a year or so for a report on any rust/corrosion that might happen (hopefully not!)
Looks great, fits solid ,I would have liked to have had 3 braces per side rather than 2
Looks clean easy to install but I wish they would cap the ends so water and road salt would not get inside of the tube and rust from the inside out
Great side steps - exactly what I wanted. Great price, easy installation and looks great on my Jeep!
very good service. product fit and is i nstalled.
I love these. The curved ends blend them into the truck. They hide the rocker panels and blend well with the bull bar I got for the front end. Easy to install and look great!
The product is top notch and looks great on my truck my only reservation is that in the instructions it should be mentioned that all "factory" holes should be re-tapped with a tap set. The bolts start going in with ease then they start to tighten up and when you start to torque them down the heads shear off. Re tapping the hole helps avoid this now all I did on the ones that sheared off was to add a nut on the stub which worked out fine. All in all it is a great addition to my truck!
These are great. After my purchase there was a fitment issue but it was quickly resolved and the service was great. This wasn't my first time dealing with etrailer and it surely won't be my last. Great team to work with. Here they are on my 2019 GMC Sierra Dbl Cab.
I had the chrome nerf bars before. Apparently Westin stopped making them. The black ones look just as sharp. Very happy with etrailer, Westin and the bars. Thank you!
They came well packaged but one end was kinda opened but everything seemed to be there. The first one the driver side I tightened as I went. I had to go back and forth loosening and tightening. The passenger side I left loose and mounted the bars to the mounts tight. Then I came back and tightened the large bolts to the frame. This worked a lot better. I used a impact to loosen the frame bolts and an air Ratchet to tighten the bars to the brackets. The air tools speeds up the process I learned this working on aircraft.I bought the green in the photos in 1997 it is a 96 it had 5445 miles on it now it has 253000 miles it. I bought the Westin bars for it shortly after I bought the truck. They still look good when clean.
I was very disappointed when I opened the box, overall I like the product, but it had several dents in them. Three on the driver side one and 2 on the passenger side. We used them anyway as we already took the old ones off and needed to put them on so we could get in the truck.
I have just finished the install of these bars on my 2002 2500HD. The installation went quickly and efficiently due to the quality of the product and in large part from the detailed installation videos provided by Trailer. The included instructions were next to useless, but referring to etrailer's video made the difference. I go out of my way to use Trailer for many needs, not just for the product, but for the support that this company offers.
2007 Chevy Trailblazer - Parts fit with ease. Each side took about 30 minutes in my home garage floor with home garage hand tools I.e. Craftsman tools. Steps seem a bit too forward on the running boards, however, after installed the step is actually in the perfect location.
Customer service as always Very Helpfull! Thanks Etrailer!
Thanks. The bars went on with no trouble at all. A second pair of hands helped a lot but the install was seamless. As you can see, they make the car look very nice. had to include picture of trailer hitch I purchased from you as well a while back. i recommend you to friends and coworkers.
good product, timely delivery. installation is another problem--difficult bolts on the body.
We were told over the phone that these nerf bars would fit our Ford F-550 even though they are for an F-350. It turns out the bars are three inches too short and Westin doesn’t make the longer bars. So we made some modifications to the brackets and were able to install them. Since we don’t carry passengers in the back, the rear steps being off by 3” isn’t a problem. These bars replace the same Westin bars that were installed in 2006 and rusted out.
Perfect fit. Still has the same “new” look, after a year! (Even though they’re dirty right now)
Holding up great, easy installation. They’re exactly what I needed. Wish they weren’t made in china.
