You don’t need a shop or a full afternoon to get this cover on your truck. The Switchblade sets up in about 10 minutes using just a wrench and screwdriver—no drilling required. The canister bolts onto the bulkhead, rails clamp in place with twist knobs, and the drain tubes plug into the factory holes. When you need your full bed back, you can remove the whole cover just as fast and reinstall it later without starting over.

Getting to your cargo is simple with the built-in tension spring and pinch-grip release. Squeeze the grips under the rear plate, and the cover glides open automatically into its canister. When you’re done, just pull it closed with the integrated strap. The spring keeps motion smooth and controlled, so you can open or close it from one side without fighting sticky panels or uneven rolling.

The deck combines black vinyl bonded to rigid aluminum slats, so it has the sleek look of a soft cover but the strength of a hard one. When paired with a locked tailgate, it forms a secure barrier against theft. The flush-mount rails sit only 1/8" above the bed, giving a low-profile style that lines up cleanly with the bed rails while helping reduce wind drag.

Rain and dust stay out thanks to foam seals under the rails, a large rear seal at the tailgate, and a canister that protects the stored cover from debris. Drain tubes route water straight through the bed floor so it doesn’t pool or freeze in the rails. The durable materials hold up in wet or dry conditions without sagging or peeling.

When retracted, the cover rolls into a compact 9-1/4" tall by 9-3/4" deep canister that keeps your rear window clear and preserves usable cargo space. The angled shape leaves room for tools or gear at the front of the bed while shielding the retracted panels from damage. It’s a practical setup that keeps your truck ready for work or travel whenever you need it.

Hi, this is Scott with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Pace Edwards Switchblade line of tonneau covers. We will have one for your truck. Just take a look at the fit guide and make sure you get the right one for you. A tonneau cover is gonna give you a lot of security and it's also gonna give the stuff that you have in the back of your truck a lot of protection from the elements. One thing that's nice about this tonneau cover is it has that look of a vinyl one that's kind of like the soft style, but inside here it's gonna have aluminum panels that's gonna help keep it from being cut into and people being able to just cut into it and grab the stuff that you have in the back.
One thing I like about this tonneau cover that's different from the other hard type tonneau covers is this one is retractable. It's gonna allow you to use the bed of your truck without taking off an entire cap style of tonneau cover. This one will retract. (cover whooshes) When it retracts up into the canister here, it gives you the full access to the bed of your truck, and it also allows this to be put away where you don't have to take a great big cover off and have it in your garage taking up a bunch of space. That's really nice, it's gonna really help you be able to use your truck like you want to use your truck, but also be able to have a tonneau cover when you want to cover it up and have security to the stuff that you have in the back of your truck.
Another thing I like about this one is it all hides up in the cabinet here, and some of the tonneau covers that you can get will actually fold up in panels and then it will fold up and then cover up the back of the window. Nice thing about this one is, is you still have access to see out the back window of your truck where a lot of them will cover that up. It's gonna be really easy to operate. It does have a strap here that you can just hook and loop right up here to the end of your rail. You can just pull it down and just close it right up like this.
Just give it a good pull and it's gonna automatically latch when it hits the back. And with it all closed up, it's gonna have a really nice weather seal here that's gonna keep a lot of your elements out and it's gonna have a seal kind of covers up all around all four corners of it. And it is gonna have a weather strip that goes along the front towards the cab and it also makes it a little more weather resistant. To unlatch it, it does have little pinch grips here. You just squeeze those together and it's gonna allow you to release your tonneau cover and lets you bring it forward.
It does have a spring assist that will also make it easier for it to retract. The canister will set up on top of the edges of your bed rails here. And one of the nice things I like about this system is if you get any water that gets in your canister here, it does come with tubes that will come down and drain out on both sides, so that's really nice to help keep water and stuff out of the inside of your canister. This tonneau cover is gonna have a really sleek looking design. It's gonna sit almost flush with the edge of your bedrails here. Some tonneau covers may stick up about an inch to two inches and it kind of sticks up a little bit. I like how this one sits nice and flat and flush, and if you look at it from the side straight across, you can barely see that it's there. As far as installation goes, this is pretty straightforward. The only tools you're really gonna need is a screwdriver and a wrench. You're gonna have all your brackets and everything that you need in your kit. These are gonna be no drill brackets here. It's gonna have your little kickstand here where you can adjust where your rails sit. And in most circumstances, you're not gonna need to drill any holes. The only holes that you may have to drill, it depends on your model. It will be for the holes, for your drain hoses, for your canister. Me personally, I would go with one like this because I like the security of this one with the aluminum slats in here. I do like the vinyl look too. It kind of gives it that old school look and it still kind of has that pad feeling with the extra security. Another thing I like about this one is it sits low, and it's gonna give me access to the back of my truck so I can use it like a truck. Where with the other ones that you kind of have to fold up and it covers the back window, I'm not a real big fan of that. The way this one looks for me is really the selling point. I like how low it sits. And that was a look at the Pace Edwards Switchblade tonneau covers. I'm Scott and thanks for watching.

It looks great once I got it put on my truck! The only complaint I had is that the install instructions they sent with it to put it all together wasn't very clear on how to put it all together. I had to look up a video on YouTube to get better instructions to do so.
I love this tonneau cover, I’ve had this one in the past, I have it installed already and it looks and works beautifully!!
Over all it’s a pretty decent tonneau cover, it really flimsy and looks like it’s going to blow in when you go through the car wash. Install is really easy and it looks good. The down side is the front seal to the cab. Why they don’t give you a longer rubber to seal to the bed. When going through the car wash the front of the bed fills up with water due to the 1/4 gap between the cab seal and the bed. This is cause by the plastic side rails that are installed down the truck.
My solution was to go to HD and get a garage door seal and make it work. So far it seems to hold up good and seal. Not sure why the company can’t do the same. Surely th rubber seal doesn’t coast that much, especially as much as this cost.
Extremely easy to install. Although it says 1 person installation, having two makes it just quicker. Box arrived open (main cardboard flap) but all items were accounted for. Just recommend banding straps prior to shipping. Feels very sturdy and well secured to the bed with no holes. Drain plugs fit as OEM and were simple to install as part of the process. Hoping this cover stands the test of time. Highly recommend! etrailer.com was quick to ship and purchasing process was very smooth!
Only negative would be the back brackets were very difficult to slide over the lip to get them in position. It required a bit of finesse with a hammer. Otherwise all good instructions, video helped greatly from the etrailer team.
Quality product, easy to install. Great customer service and quick response!!
Tonneau cover was delivered as requested and the product was installed in less than 1/2 hour. Prompt delivery with zero problems,I would highly recommend this product.
I have just received my Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover. It was super easy to install. You guys at etrailer are awesome. Super fast delivery. This is where I’ll shop from now on.
Finally got time to install my bed cover. Love it, much better than the old back flip that I had on my old truck.
Great service and fine product! Order was delivered in two packages and delivered on time, and all the parts were included (nothing left out as sometimes happens). Tonneau cover was easy to install both by following included directions or by using the demo video on the website. Item fit my 2026 RAM3500 DRW MEGA CAB like OEM and worked properly upon installation.
I have only one slight concern as you will see in provided pictures. To make the cover fully "water tight", you will need to add some type of seal or trim where the bed meets the bed rails, as the provided seal does not extend over this small, open area at the joint.
Abigail helped me find the correct tonneau cover that fits an 8 ft. Truck bed. Order came pretty quickly and my wife and I installed it in about 1 1/2 hours. The materials seem to be top notch and look amazing on my truck. Love the low profile. The cover slides back and forth with ease. Great fit! Great Product. Do watch the video's on the installation. Very helpful.
Looks good. Easy install. Can be done by one person. Opens and closes smoothly.
Thank you eTrailer for your install videos. They are so much better to follow than the instructions that come with the cover. It took me about an hour to install if not a bit longer due to the rain. I installed on my own, which the install woukd be faster if you have someone helping you. The only thing I had an issue with was the weather strip but it was also due to the surface being wet and hard to dry.
It is installed and was fairly straight forward. Despite others indicating there were no instructions, mine included somewhat clear instructions (could be better). If I had understood that staples through vinyl into aluminum was the core of the design - or a plastic bin was the container, I would certainly have kept looking for something with a more robust design. I expect a couple/three years before replacing, but it solves my immediate need. In this case, ability to see the gooseneck ball from the center high-mount camera that was blocked with the tri-fold cover. Like others have shared, don't expect a dry bed! The omission of a seal from the rear of the rails to the tailgate is confusing - as is the lack of seal length on the head rail to from a seal up front. I'll figure something out for both eventually, but a little underwhelming for the would-be low cost to address in design.
Excellent product very easy to install fits my F350 perfectly
E Trailer has great customer service I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a retractable tonneau cover
Very easy one man install. Looks amazing. very flush with bed rails. will slide over 5th Wheel hitch. gives enough room under Canister to put 36 gallon fuel tank.
Love the sleekness of the cover. I removed a bak revolver and replaced it with this one. Much easier to hook up the 5th wheel without the giant roll of cover behind the cab. Super easy to open and close. The only issue I had was the front mounting hardware did not fit for some reason. They would not loop together due to the Engel of the truck bed. Not a big deal as I made it work just fine.pretty easy install as I did the entire thing alone as a 58 year old man with a wrecked back!
The bed cover is amazing! I have a low bed rack that doesn’t work with a folding cover, so this retractable cover was the perfect choice. Now I can leave the rack in place and access the bed. Installation was pretty easy, a little confusing just from the directions, but it probably would have been easier if I watched a video. The clamps weren’t intuitive, but made sense once they were in and feel super secure. I’ve only had it in for a few days, but just took the truck camping for a long weekend and used the cover a bunch. I can’t speak to the longevity yet, but so far, so good!
Works and fits like a dream
My third Switchblade retractable hard cover . Happy with the look , function , and ability to secure items within the truck bed .
I will give it a five star for the actual product however the installation, step number 4 is totally m8ssing from the instructions and then there is no instructions on installing the cover on the canister for the final steps or at least there's no illustrations. Luckily I have installed something similar on a different truck so I knew what to do.
I love it, easy to install, and so good looking!
The products instructions sucked & it was missing 1 part. It took much longer than 10 minutes to install as indicated. Plus I was expecting to see a video of installation on your website, but there wasn't any.
I know that it is not your problem but the installation instructions need to be better I learned more from a video on the cover than what the instructions told me .Maybe Pace Edwards should include a link on their instruction page

Glad you like it! I have had one of these on my Silverado since 2018 and it's still holding up very well! Just don't smash a bookcase into it when it isn't opened all the way. They don't like that. : P What are you going to be keeping in your bed? I keep a bunch of survival type gear in a milk crate. The cover keeps everything nice and dry.
