Video Transcript for UWS Truck Bed L-Shaped Side Rail Toolbox Spec Review

Today were going to review part number UWS01622. This is the UWS truck bed L-shaped side rail toolbox. This side mount box is L-shaped. I can show you right here. You can see right here this will sit on the truck bed rails. Its designed to sit above and hang behind and below the truck bed rails.

The box features these two, and includes these two sturdy leg brackets. These basically will attach when this is attached to your truck bed rails, these legs would actually here and to your truck bed for additional support. The insulated beveled single lid will open a full 90 degrees with the help of a super duty gas cylinder on the inside which will raise the lid and hold it open as you load and unload your gear. This side box, mount box, will also work perfectly with other UWS crossover toolboxes. Well start with this lid, it is the beveled lid, the edges are beveled.

It features a patented foam filled lid which will provide insulation and protection from your outside elements. It is a structural foam which will reinforce the shape and strength of the lid. It does have a dust barrier on the whole inside of the lid so that when you close it it will protect the contents of the box from any of the outside elements. It does have the single heavy duty gas cylinder which will help lift the lid and hold it open a full 90 degrees. As you can see if you release it it pretty much opens by itself.

Now this lid is held onto the toolbox by a full length piano hinge. The nice thing about that is the piano hinge will give it full structural rigidity so when you push it closed itll equally close. It does have a single stainless steel paddle latch handle for opening and closing. It does come with a stainless steel lock and two keys. To lock your contents you just turn it a quarter of a turn and itll keep the latch from opening.

If you just unlock it pull up on the latch to open the box. This box is an aluminum construction, has fully welded seams, which are guaranteed not to rust. The finish is a black powder coat which is the best based finish if you want to paint this box the color to match your truck. As I mentioned before this side mount box is nicely designed to match the look and height of the UWS crossover saddle style toolboxes. This part is made in the USA. A few dimensions on this, the overall length is 36 inches. The width of the box is 11 inches. The total height is going to be 11 inches. Now with the lid closed that will just add one inch to those dimensions I gave you. Now the interior capacity on the inside here is 1.9 cubic feet of usable space. This box is constructed of a .063 aluminum tread plate. This box will sit 4 inches above the truck bed rails. Theres your 4 inches. This does come with a one year warranty.
