Today we're going to be reviewing part number CAM43677. This is a Camco Fixed Height Platform Step. It's made from a sturdy aluminum construction. The platform step is going to give you an extra boost into your RV or hard to reach areas. It's going to make it an ideal unit for your RV, your home or even in your trailer. The legs will actually fold under for compact storage and easy set up, so I'll show you that here in a moment. The step itself is only going to weigh 6-1/2 pounds.
Here on the actual platform, it has grip tape and on the legs it's going to feature non-slip rubber feet, so it's going to ensure solid footing, both here at the legs and for the user on top of the platform. Now with it unfolded in this position, it's going to give us an overall length measuring from edge to edge down here at the feet of about 24 inches. The overall width from edge to edge here at the feet, that's going to give us a measurement of about 20 inches and then our overall height to the top of the platform here is going to measure about 8 inches tall. Now, the platform dimensions, that's going to give us a length of about 19 inches. It's going to give us a width of about 14-1/2 and again, it's got that nice textured surface on it. Now, this is very strong and very durable. It's rated with a capacity of 1,000 pounds. To get it folded up, it's also a very simple process.
All you got to do is push in on the buttons here at the feet and then push each foot down until it makes contact with the bottom of the platform. Now, with it in this position, the platform measurements stay the same. The only measurement that changes is the overall height. It's now going to be about 2-3/4 of an inch. That's going to do it for today's review of part number CAM43677. This is the Camco Fixed Height Platform Step.

This platform step is exactly what I needed, wanted, and ordered. It got here quickly and in good shape. A friend scoffed at my use of a plastic step stool for my travel trailer, suggesting that a true rv-er would have an aluminum step stool that wouldn't slip or tip. We actually bought this to make it easier for our older dog to get into our station wagon. We had been using a large ramp on the back, but our dog was having trouble trusting her legs with it. This fold-up step was the perfect solution! It took up so much less space, and was safer to use in a parking lot (side of car instead of rear). She took to it right away. We've recommended it to several friends at the dog park!
We tried less expensive options for far too long. This step is rock solid, lightweight and packs relatively flat. As always, eTrailer service is top notch.
