Body roll makes any big rig feel unsettled in a curve. This 1-3/8" diameter solid 4140 chromoly steel bar ties the front axle to the frame to balance weight transfer and cut lean through corners. The result is tighter, more confident handling when you turn or make quick maneuvers, keeping the ride level and predictable.
When crosswinds or passing trucks shove you around, it takes constant correction to stay straight. This front sway bar limits side-to-side movement so the vehicle tracks steady, even in gusty conditions or around heavy traffic. You’ll feel more in control and less worn out after a long haul.
The system uses polyurethane bushings that resist oil, gasoline, and ozone, so they don’t squish out or deteriorate like rubber. That means less give and more consistent support over time. The bar carries a silver vein hammer-tone powder coat and the brackets use a black powder coat, both corrosion-resistant finishes that hold up for years.
No drilling or frame mods required. The bar reuses factory end links and comes with zinc-plated hardware, easy-to-follow instructions, and bushing lubricant. With basic tools, you can bolt it on and be ready to roll with a more stable, better-handling setup.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look together at this Hellwig front anti-sway bar. Now this anti-sway bar is designed to fit your 2021 to 2023 Ford F-150, and on custom fit parts such as this sway bar, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide. Simply input the year, make, and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will confirm that this will work for you, or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, this bar is designed to replace your factory installed front sway bar and this is going to reuse your factory supplied end links. And when you have this installed, this is going to help minimize side-to-side movement, improving the overall stability of your F-150.
This system is going to let you execute turns and quick maneuvers with confidence. It's going to provide a level ride for you even on irregular surfaces. This is also going to help reduce driver fatigue by minimizing the effort required to keep your F-150 in line. And this is also going to help diminish the effects of shifting cargo, passing motorists and crosswinds. Now, this anti-sway bar does for side-to-side movement what a good pair of shocks does for up and down motion, giving you a marked improvement in the stability of your F-150.
Now, the bushings are made of a polyurethane instead of the standard rubber variety, giving you a longer lasting system. They're durable, they're resistant to damage caused by oil and gasoline. So as you know, less wear means less give in the system and better overall support. Now, the diameter of this bar is 1 and 3/8 inches. It is made here in the USA of a solid heat treated chromoly steel giving you that superior strength.
And I would like to zoom in close up just a little bit just to show you this finish. This bar features a silver vein hammer tone finish, which not only gives you protection from corrosion, but the finish actually has little divots in it. So when you grease your polyurethane bushings and slide them on the bar, this finish is gonna do a great job of holding the grease in the bushing to prevent them from squeaking. This does include a set of instructions to guide you through the installation process, along with some additional hardware and bushing lubricant. The brackets that hold your polyurethane bushings are coated in a black powder coat finish to resist rust and corrosion, and this does have a limited lifetime warranty from Hellwig.
Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our brief look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

Sway bar works as intended. But its showimg major surface rust. The paint did not hold up well. Other than that its fine
Easy to assemble, easy to adjust, made a difference when towing our 5th wheel. Better overall ride,
Our Ford E350 got blown all over the Interstate on trips. It was so dangerous at times. At first I installed Bilstein shocks and though they helped a little, installing the front and rear anti-sway bars and the steering stabilizer made all the difference in the world. I changed them all at the same time so I don't know which one helped the most. These are certainly quality products and are pretty easy to install.
These were very easy to install and have made a huge difference in the handling of the Motorhome. I highly recommend these to anyone wanting to increase the stability of their RV both on the road and also while parked. Added these first then later added the Roadmaster steering stabilizer and the difference is night and day! No more white knuckle driving!! Well worth the money.
Installation went very smooth. No issues, everything fit perfectly. Significant difference in the RV handling , stiffer ride and seems to handle the wind and tractor and trailers passing . Very satisfied and highly recommended.
Hellwig makes a decent product and fills the gap of many aftermarket stuff. My order could have been packaged better and it was also missing the bolts for the control arm links. Other than that installation was straightforward and would consider purchasing from either company.
Had my doubts about anti-sway making much of difference, but after I installed it and took it for a test drive, it was like day and night, along with a steering damper it almost drove like my pickup. I just don't understand why these motorhome manufactures don't install these things at the factory. This greatly improves handling as well as safety. So if you do the white knuckle death grip driving I would highly recommend you have this installed along with a steering damper. No regrets.
The install video and product description shows you can use it in place of your existing swaybar. I watched all of the videos read the directions and the brackets did not lineup. Made sure it was for my make and model, had to make it work by bending a few brackets to fit. If I didn’t already have my RV disassembled in my driveway and was a pinch I would have returned it.
The installation went well. Lots of rolling on the ground! Allowed two hours was closer to four hours when completed. Will need to get some mileage on the motor home to determine if it was worth it.
It wasn't too hard to install yourself and it does make a difference with the sway
Hellwig makes a great sway bar, and etrailer has great service ! What more can you ask ?
Big and Beefy! For years, Hellwig has been my go to vendor when it comes to suspension augmentation for my towing needs. I am not surprised at the quality of this front sway bar. I am paired it with a new Hellwig rear sway at as well. It will make a huge difference when towing my heavy fifth wheel.
My rig was equipped with one inch sway bars, front and back. Today was my first trip since I installed the inch and a half bar on the rear. Wind gust were up to 25mph. It made a world of difference in the effort it took to maintain my lane. Still took a little effort. I may go with the one and three eights bar on the front, along with sumo assist springs. That should eliminate all sway.
This with sumo front and rear and Bilstein shocks bought locally improved the stability of our sprinter class C by multiple factors.
The handling went from sucking to this is pretty good. Why did we wait 2 years?
I'm using both front and rear swaybars by Hellwig, along with a Safe T Plus steering stabilizer, and it's been like night and day when compared to what was OEM in my '25 Ford E450. I no longer experience the super flighty feeling when driving in high winds, and, while I won't say it drives just like my car, it is a much more solid and stable, and relaxed, driving experience.
Really improved the handling. Passing trucks on the interstate isn't as uncomfortable anymore. Generally I can now drive one handed. One person can change them but two would be easier.
sway bar adds strength to handle heavy tow and stability during normal driving. The big beast is actually much smoother with this and the Sumo spring helpers. It takes the annoying bounce out of the empty low weight drive also. Highly recommend!
Thanks for the help on determining if my sway bar link is ok to use on my 2001 Ford E350 or if it's at too much of an angle. Attached are a couple of pictures I took of my install.
Please let me know if there is anything additional I can provide.
The sway bar is definitely beefy and well made. Now that it’s installed I’m pleased with it and hope it helps with cross winds. Two small issues with the install. First we were missing the 2.75” bolts and Hellwig shipped them to me FedEx two day no questions asked but still a delay. Second, the U-Shape brackets are way too tight. Watched a video on YouTube and the guy warned us on this. There is no need for it to be this tight. Need to flex out the U brackets to squeeze in the washers. It’s almost impossible. Lastly the boxing of the bar is inadequate, it needs to be secured in better.
Ordering was simple with the help of Andy. Item was delivered a day early.
We purchased the Hellwig front sway bar. Have only driven the unit back to storage (about 4 miles) so haven't been able to experience the end product. Can't wait to hit the road and not sway into another lane from an 18 wheeler going by us
The instructions say to use the original mounting nuts on the new bracket. However, the holes on the bracket are too large requiring the use of washers to avoid the nuts from being partially in the holes. For the amount paid, you would think it would come with all of the appropriate mounting hardware. Not happy being delayed until a run to the hardware store for install.
I hope the ride is at least improved.
Thank you Etrailer and especially Gabby for answering a few technical and part number questions. The Etrailer YouTube tutorials were very beneficial in helping complete this DIY project, no problem! The upgrades with the Hellwig front and rear sway bars improved the handling and reduced the rock-n-roll sway across rough roads and in the corners as well as large trucks and busses passing by. The upgrades also included a Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer. This Thor Freedom Elite 25’ E350 chassis now drives more like a big pickup truck instead of a large RV. Thank you Etrailer, Hellwig and Safe-T-Plus. We’re ready to hit the road for long trips with confidence!!
It's been a year but I remember the bolts on the end links were different. Other than that it works great. If you do the back one you should do the front one too.
Installed on 2026 F150 Tremor 402B. As the stock sway bar is even softer than the standard F150 HD bar to allow for more independant movement when offroading, this leads to increased body roll while onroad. The Hellwig sway bar exceeded my expectations for stabilizing and flattening the truck in turns. To have the trucks full offroad capability I just need to disconect the endlinks.Truck now handles incredibly well onroad, which is where is will mostly be driven. Installation was easy.
