When the trailer tongue or bed load starts to weigh your rear end down, these LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs step in with up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity. They keep your vehicle level front to back so your handling, braking, and headlight aim stay consistent under load. By taking stress off your factory suspension, they help distribute weight evenly across all four wheels so your truck feels stable even when towing heavy or hauling uneven weight.
Rough roads or uneven loads don’t have to mean a harsh ride. Each air bag has a closed-cell urethane jounce spring inside that engages when air pressure alone isn’t enough to support the load. These internal jounces absorb bumps and road shock, reduce sway, and help with cornering. They also act as a built-in fail-safe if you ever lose air pressure, keeping your suspension protected and your ride controlled until you can refill the bags.
Every haul is different, so being able to dial in your support matters. These air springs adjust anywhere from 5 psi to 100 psi so you can tune the firmness for what you’re carrying. Inflate both sides evenly for front-to-back leveling or adjust each one separately for side-to-side balance on off-center loads. Manual inflation valves and air lines are included and can be mounted on the bumper for easy access.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at these Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with internal jounce bumpers for your rear axle. Now, these have been designed to fit your 2017 to 2020 Ford F-150 Raptor. And on custom-fit parts such as these springs, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. Input the year, make and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will confirm if these will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, this hybrid spring system with a load leveling capacity of 5,000 pounds combines the adjustability of air springs with the reliability of jounce-style springs.
These air springs are going to reduce the strain on your rear suspension, it's going to increase safety, and compensate for uneven loads. Now, some additional benefits include leveling your truck, front to back, and help maintain that safe headlight aim. They'll adjust independently for side to side leveling of any off center loads, which will improve steering and braking performance. Now, on the inside of each of these air springs are jounce springs. They help improve ride comfort, reduce sway, and help with cornering.
It will engage a lower air pressures to better absorb road shock and minimize bottoming out, and it's going to provide support progressively, which means the more you load the springs, the stiffer they become, and it'll let you temporarily carry a load with zero air pressure in the air springs because of those jounce springs inside. Now, these are made here in the USA of 2 Ply fabric reinforced rubber, and these airbags have air lifts exclusive upper and lower roll plates. So these plates are going to protect the air springs from damage and they're going to extend the life of your suspension system. The adjustable air pressure on the air spring is from five PSI to 100 PSI. And on the end of each spring, and you're not gonna be able to see it because I do have these kind of loosely put together to kind of give you an idea of how these are going to attach to these brackets.
But on the end of each spring, it's a high strength Zytel nylon end cap, which is lighter, stronger, and more corrosion-resistant than steel. The jounce spring that's on the inside is a urethane jounce spring, so it requires no maintenance and it works well in hot or cold temperatures. So this kit includes everything that you see laid out here on my table before me. Of course, you're going to get the mounting brackets and all the hardware that you're going to need to install these. And then the manual inflation valves and the air lines are included, the manual valves are typically mounted on the bumper for easy access.
You are gonna get a set of instructions to guide you through the installation process. And you can get compressor systems with in-cab gauges that can be added to monitor and automatically adjust the air pressure. Now, again, I said at the beginning of our time together that the load leveling capacity is up to 5,000 pounds. But it is important to note that these air helper springs do not actually increase your F-150 rafters weight carrying capacity. These airbags definitely give me a much better ride due to Toyota using coil springs in the rear. I would have given them 5 starts but one of the airbags inset thread was damaged and I was lucky enough to have the right tap. It wasn't noticed till I had my truck on the lift and the first bag installed. If i wasn't able to do that I would have had to uninstall the first bag and wait for a replacement. I understand these things happen but check your parts thoroughly before installing. I would purchase these bags again if needed.
Installed on a 2024 GMC Sierra Crew SLT with rear poly mono springs. This worked great and the install was easy. It took me about 2.5 hours on a 4 post lift, but you could do it in the driveway if you needed to. I reached out to airlift to make sure it would work on a vehicle with mono-springs and they were not 100 percent sure if it would. So I took a chance and it worked flawlessly!
2021 Ram 2500 install was easy, it took a while to run the airlines. I pull a 5th wheel camper 700 miles each trip, the air bags eliminated the side by side roll and keeps the bed level. So far I am very satisfied with the results. When I am not pulling a trailer I lower the air bags to 10lbs for a better ride.
I was easy to install just a few hours. Everything in the kit fit well. It would be nice if an extension brackets were provided for the brake line/abs wire mounting bars would be included like the brake line adapters that’s provided in the kit is my only recommendation to make it top notch.
I explained the size/weight of the load I carry in my duallie. A 5000lb slide in camper and a 28' twin engine jet boat. These bags are probably great for their respective load, but I was convinced by the sales team at etrailer that these would be sufficient. They aren't. I can put 100lbs of air (the max) in and truck still sags. Should have gone with the 7500 lb bags.
works very well. i installed them on a 2012 Ford F-150 towing a Grand Design 2600 RB. the airbags substantially helped cut down the bouncing when going over big bumps, bridge decks, etc. also helps with the side winds. very happy with set up.
I installed these on my Tundra and did the install myself. Easy to install. The video's on the website are helpful as well as searching on youtube for more videos. I use these for towing our travel trailer. They work great for inflating and leveling the truck and trailer. I would buy again if my next truck did not have them installed.
Just had them installed, I’ll be hauling a 9800lb travel trailer soon. That will be the real test!
Added 40lbs of air, they sit the rear of truck up nicely.
etrailer delivered these in four days which was a pleasant surprise. The Load Lifter 5000 were easy to install and all of the parts fit perfectly. The installation instructions were spot on as well. I tried to save a little time by leaving the wheels mounted, that turned out to be a mistake, so I removed the wheels mounted on the second side and saved about 45 minutes. The loadlifters perform exactly how I want. They took all of the sway out of my tundra while hauling my truck camper.
Deliver was awesome, installation was a little more complicated than expected but had installed big wig sway bar and torklift lower wedges added some unexpected fitment modifications but I can say has delivered results I wanted.
The truck rides much better now, though I haven’t yet towed with the air bags yet. The bags took out that annoying side to side movement.

I run an arctic fox 811 on a f350 single wheel, and these have been a game changer, no issues and helps that ride quality with the weight of the truck bed camper in the back. Having the air chucks in the fuel door is a recommendation I would recommend to anyone going without a on board air compressor
Overall I am very pleased with the LoadLifter 5000. I purchased for a 2017 Tundra 1794 which we pull a 26' travel trailer. Prior to purchase the truck & trailer had a noticeable sag and it was challenging to distribute the weight in the trailer to reduce the sag. With the LL5000 the sag is eliminated with around 40 psi and the overall feel of the truck & trailer was much more solid and less bouncy when going over rough roads. Also, I was able to haul some lumber several times were the load was around 1,700 lbs which was 600 lbs over the stock capacity of the Tundra of 1,100 lbs...this was done with 60 psi. The LL5000 really showed their performance there with no sag with this load. The only reason I give a 4 out of 5 stars is the drive performance when not carrying a load or towing the trailer. Unfortunately the drive is not as smooth as the stock configuration. I've tried adjusting the pressure from 0 psi thru 30 psi in intervals of 5 psi and unfortunately there's some added bumpiness no matter which psi is selected. Overall, at around 10psi that seems to be the best ride but again, not the smoothness of the stock configuration. But if you're needing to eliminate sag with a trailer or boost your haul capacity, the LL5000 will definitely satisfy those needs.
VERY GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION!
I have a 2020 Sierra 1500 AT4. I have the back loaded with a DECKED drawer system full of tools, plus all my gear in tubs for investigating fire scenes. My amazing pickup was nearly riding the bump stops all day. On a bumpy road, it was pretty taxing. Off-road was brutal. After some research I found this kit to fit my AT4 truck, part #88388.
You will need tall jack stands for this project. We ended up bracing ours on the rear leaf spring perches due to exhaust routing.
This is a brand new install, so time will tell as to how it holds up, but I have high expectations. This kit comes with paper instructions that are pretty spot-on. The pictures were helpful, and the instructions are detailed enough for a novice to understand. With one extra set of hands, I installed this kit in about 2 hours. I mounted the single fill valve in my gas-fill area, hidden behind the fuel lid. No bending over to add or release pressure.
After the install, I ran the pressure up to 40 psi as recommended. I got about 2 1/2” of lift out of that. I pulled a trailer home from the shop, and my truck rode like brand new. For my daily cargo, I think 40 pounds is just about perfect. And my tailgate is back at belly button height again. My headlights are shining where they should be shining. My bottomed-out ride is now compliant and comfortable.
The parts seem to be quality, and I had zero fitment issues. The only specialty tool was the T40 TORX tip for removing brackets from the axle front. You need it before you start. This kit is an easy install with a basic 3/8” socket set, a couple box end wrenches, and a couple other basic hand tools. This project should not scare too many people away.
Pro tip: You may think you can do it without taking off the tires. DON’T!! You’ll be pissed off at your truck and anyone nearby. The time savings will be worth it.
Also, the parking brake is on the back axle. Chock the front tires and/or put your rig in 4 low before lifting the back end.
The AirLift 5000 work great. The installation brackets didn't work for my Toyota RV & I had to fabricate the ones that'd mount to the frame. Otherwise, awesome improvement to the stability & ride.
Good system seems to made very well. I also got the Airlift Compressor as well Would have done 5 stars but the quick mount doesn't fit a 2025 F250 frame. About an inch to small. DIRECTIONS are terrible, pictures are blurry. Had to you tube the install. for that much money a couple of more pages explaining better with clear pictures.
I did the installation myself with auto ramps and a bottle jack. The instructions were good, however, some of the pictures were dark and hard to see. At 60 PSI and no load the truck rides like it has no shocks so I have been running 10 PSI and it seems to be great. 2015 F250 4x2 ext cab. I drilled the TAG screws and install the air fill ports in there place.
Great instructions and easy installation! Fit perfectly! Loaded my tractor to test them out and they completely leveled my sagging truck with 42psi.
I was really disappointed in how it changed my ride of my truck when I don’t have any air in the airbags and not pulling a trailer I’ll probably end up taking them off and trying something else. If I’m hooked up to a trailer they were great, but since I only do that every once in a while, it’s important that I maintain my factory ride and these don’t do that.
This kit should have included the cradles for complete separation from the axle when full articulation is desired - this is a Ford Raptor afterall! Also, the kit and the instructions were not an exact fit for my 2020 model (802A). There was included minor hardware that did not work and I had to improvise. That said, I love the air springs; especially after adding the cradles purchased separately. Suggest the folks at etrailer investigate the lack of a matching kit and correct.
Works amazing. The install was a little more difficult than it appears… It actually took me and a couple other guys five hours to get it completely installed.
There was a lot of cutting/grinding metal to make pieces fit properly, and had to drop the axel completely… I think that’s only for my gen 2 raptor.

Product works great and helps level the truck during towing. I have noticed a difference in the amount of travel my back wheels have when offloading. But I knew that would be a sacrifice.
