Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen, here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the K Source replacement side mirror. This is going to be a direct replacement for your existing mirror, or a mirror that got damaged somewhere along the way, and this is going to be a custom fit for the 2015 through 2017 Subaru Legacy, and also for the '15 through '17 Subaru Outback wagon.The nice thing about this is that we don't have to worry about any cutting, no drilling, no splicing. It's going to plug right into our factory wiring from our Subaru, so we'll get all our original functions from that mirror. We'll be able to adjust it from inside our cab. It also is going to still support the heated function for our mirror.

The only things at this near doesn't support would be the blind spot detection system and also the turn signal that is in the mirror. So if your vehicle had that, this is not going to replace that, but it will still give you those remote adjustment functions, as well as the heated function. If your vehicle didn't have either of those, this isn't going to be an upgrade for you, since you won't have any wiring to plug into, so keep that in mind as well.Now you might notice that I have several covers here that are laid out. These are going to come with our mirror face, so whenever you first get this, they're not going to be attached to that mirror. That's because it's a lot easier to paint these whenever they're off the vehicle, rather than trying to do it whenever it's on.

So if you wanted to paint match it to your Subaru, you can do that whenever the covers removed since once it's popped into place, it is really hard to remove those without scratching or damaging them. So I would definitely suggest doing that first. Paint it up, then pop it in place once it's dry, and you should be good to go. You'll get one top cover that's gloss, and then the other top cover that's kind of more of the matte, and then the bottom cover to go around that.So whenever those are ready to go, just put it over the back housing and it should match up and look just like your original. So it should look something like that that.

You notice that hardware there, too. That's going to be a replacement hardware for our original mirror as well, so we should have everything we need to get that mirror replaced, and get back out on the road and driving safely.The mirror face does have an OE grade convex glass, so that's going to keep that wide field of view so we're going to reduce any kind of blind spots, and we'll be able to flip the mirror in, since it does have the breakaway function.
