Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the K Source replacement side mirror. This is going to be a powered mirror that's going to be a direct replacement for your 2017 through 2018 Hyundai Elantra sedan.So it should have the exact same footprint as your original mirror. It does come with new hardware to get that attached to your Elantra. New nuts that go in place, and then your wiring is going to plug right into that socket there, so there's no cutting or splicing. No drilling required with this.
Really easy install. You'll probably just have to remove a panel on the inside of you Elantra to get access to the nuts from your original mirror. Remove those, undo the wiring, and then repeat the same process in reverse to get your new mirror in place.So this does have the heated function and also remote adjustment, so you can make those adjustments from inside your cab using the toggle on the side or the pad, whatever you have inside your Elantra, to make the adjustments for your mirror.Now if your original mirror did not have heated functions or that remote function, this isn't going to upgrade your mirror. You don't, you just won't have that wiring to make this work. So this isn't going to give you any functions that you didn't already have, in other words.But that mirror face is a convex lens, so it's going to give you a wider field of view.
You'll notice this does not have a spotter mirror, so if your mirror did have that, this one will not be, will not have that function anymore. So just keep that in mind. But it will allow you to see what's going on behind you, make any lane changes, go in reverse, anything like that.So very important to have your side mirror. Does still have the breakaway function. You can see there's the split there where it would actually fold in against your Elantra.
