Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the K-source replacement side-view mirror. This is going to replace the factory mirror for your driver's side on your 1997 Dodge van. This is modeled after the Dodge's original look and fit. So you really shouldn't be able to tell that this is a replacement mirror.

It should look like it came with your Dodge van right from the factory. It does have the exact same footprint. So you're not going to have to worry about drilling any holes or anything like that. Basically you just remove the old mirror and put this one in its place and you we're ready to go. This does have the power remote capability.

So if your original mirror was able to adjust the mirror face position with the factory power controls inside your vehicle, this mirror will be able to do that as well.If your original did not have that capability, this will not add that capability, it will just replace that if it was already a part of your van. This is an OE grade product. So it's going to be the same high quality materials as the original. The front of the glass is plated with a reflective chrome, so it's going to give you a nice, clear reflection of anything that's behind you. So you can see if it's clear to change lanes or back up those sorts of things.

It does have a flat lens that's going to represent the true representation of objects behind you. You don't have to worry about any sort of warping or distortion, anything like that. It does have a breakaway design like most mirrors nowadays, so that if you we're to hit a post or the side of your garage or something along those lines, the mirror is going to fold in on itself to try and help absorb some of that shock and reduce the amount of damage to the mirror itself. But it does have a durable plastic housing with a textured black finish on it.So it should be very durable for you last you a nice long time, and do a good job of replacing that original mirror. Now, for those of you who do need a little bit more reassurance that this is going to work for you, this is going to be an exact replacement for the original equipment number that you see on the screen there.

So if you're going through your owner's manual, you see that number, or as you're taking the old one off, if you see that number on it, you can trust this is going to be the replacement that you need. Now, this is just the driver's side mirror, if you need the passenger side, that's also available here at etrailer.com. You can find it using the part number that you see on the screen there.So hopefully you don't have to replace both at the same time, but if you do, we do have those options available for you.
