Ask the Experts about this Derale Accessories and Parts

Do you have a question about this Accessories and Part?

  • Can Derale Thread-In Thermostatic Fan Control # D16720 Be Used on Multiple Fans
  • According to my contact at Derale, the Thread-In Thermostat Fan Control you mentioned, part # D16720 can run multiple fans as long as their combined power draw does not exceed 15 amps.

  • Thermostat Recommendations for an Electric Fan
  • For an electric fan you would need to use a different thermostat control like # D15721 for an in-line or # D16720 for a thread-in style. The thread in style is recommended for fans that draw more than 10 amps. Each of these thermostats is rated higher than the 8 amps your fan is drawing. The thermostats will start the fan if the temperature gets above 180 degrees. No switch or additional harnesses (other than regular wire appropriate for this application) are needed.
