etrailer RV Toilet Rating

We evaluate RV toilets by how similar they are to a residential style. For weekend RVers, you won't be bothered by missing a few of these features, especially if you tend to rely on the campsite's facilities. If you live in an RV year-round, you're likely to want something that feels just like home. The chart below summarizes our rating. Get the toilet that has the features that matter most to you.

Ceramic bowl Standard height Elongated bowl shape Slow-close lid Wooden Seat Flush style
5 jets
With these features, we recommend this as an option for weekender RVers

Measure to Fit

RV toilet rough in measurement

To make sure this toilet fits your RV, measure from the wall to the center of the flange. This rough-in measurement must be at least 9-1/2" in order for this toilet to fit.

If you have a toilet already installed, you can measure between the wall and the toilets mounting bolts to get an accurate estimate of where the center of the flange is. An offset flange or a 4-bolt mounted toilet can make this measurement unreliable, so if you are unsure, it might be best to remove the old toilet to get the best measurement.

Video Transcript for Comprehensive Review: Thetford Aqua-Magic Residence RV Toilet

Hi neighbors. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're talking toilets, specifically our Bedford Aqua Magic Residence toilet. And it's a low profile bone color made out of polypropylene. So folks, again, bone color. I call it a teal off white, beige, something like that.

It's definitely not super white, but they call it a bone color. It's a nice RV toilet. It's super ideal for the part-time RV living or extended camping trips. It does boast a nice low 12 and a half inch tall height. It's gonna be great for those bathrooms where you have a raised platform to install it on.

And it also has a nice full rounded front and seat. You can easily swap them out with a different style of your choice. It opens and closes quietly, both the lid and the seat. Your kids aren't gonna be waking you up at nighttime or your spouse, significant other, whoever, when they're using the restrooms. Now going to the top.

I'll show you the flush valve. When you open it, flushes everything out by gravity. Wipes it clean when it closes every time. It's a little hard to see, but you got this valve here, it's got five jets that spray down at different angles to clean everything out whenever it's time to flush it. You get all the hardware, the gasket, all the hardware to install it.

It installs on most two bolt patterns on the four flanges. Made here in the USA. That foot pedal here, you can do a half flush, that kinda lets water in, and then the full flush would actually flush everything out with gravity. Next one, your warranty. You got your main water hookup down here, and this little tad over here is for a optional sprayer that's sold separately. If you want a hand sprayer, you could hook that up there and do a hand sprayer sold separately. Some dimensions. With the lid closed, the whole thing is 13 and 3/4 inches tall, 15 and 1/4 inches wide, by 19 and 3/4 inches deep. The base is 10 and 1/4 inches long by 8 and 3/8 inches wide. And the very important measurement from the center flange to the wall, you got 9 and 1/2 inches. The whole thing only weighs about 10.6 pounds and it's got a nice one year warranty. The one I've got it here, I'll go ahead and show you the bottom, since it's super light. Folks again, made here in America. Great Bedford Aqua Magic Residence RV toilet, the low profile bone color. I'm Steve. Thanks for watching. Stay safe out there and have a great day.

@GwendolynY We park our Motorhome on the coast of Maine for the summah. My wife inherited a patch of land that we work to enjoy and save money. We leave the cold winters and go south to visit our son, to ebike, and to visit our Florida girls. Retirement is the best job I ever had. Thanks for the equipment we need.
