This vacuum mount gives your MoonShade awning a secure clip-in point on smooth surfaces. It locks in with a few pumps and moves easily when you shift your setup. Two mounts are required for one awning.
This vacuum mount creates a temporary anchor point on any clean, smooth, and non-porous surface. When you're setting up, you'll need two to support your MoonShade. You can use the included eyebolt on any of the threaded holes to set the clip-in angle that works best for your setup, which helps you line up the canopy the way you want it. The plunger forms a strong seal when the surface is clean and flat, and it's easy to release when you're ready to move the anchor. Just keep in mind that roof ribs or narrow flat spots may not give the round base enough contact, which is where you'd want to use the oval vacuum mounts (MN44FR - sold separately).
Once the surface is clean, moisten the rubber pad to help it form a solid seal. Press it against the surface and pump the plunger until the indicator line disappears. From there, you can clip your MoonShade to the eyebolt and check the seal as needed throughout the day. When it's time to move, press the release tabs to break the seal and lift the mount away. It's a quick process that's simple to run through once you've done it a few times.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this MoonMount Round Vacuum Anchor with eyelet. Now if you're looking for a secure way to set up your MoonShade awning, this round MoonMount Vacuum Anchor is going to be just what you need. This has a powerful vacuum seal that's going to hold tight on virtually any type of surface, so you're not gonna have to worry about it budging while you're out exploring. Now this does feature, as you can see here at the top, multiple mounting holes that are gonna give you the flexibility to find the best setup for your vehicle.
And it does include the stainless steel eyelet and I have already installed that on the top here with one of the threaded inserts. And then you're gonna have another threaded insert here that you can install into the larger holes here. And then it does come with these hex wrenches here to get those threaded inserts secured into place. So this is again, going to give you several different ways in which you can use this. And this eyelet is going to be great to to use with the awnings carabiner system for a quick, reliable connection.
So this does include everything that you see here. You're also going to get this cap to attach back to the bottom of that cup when it's not in use to keep that, the bottom of that cup nice and clean. So despite its compact size, it's going to give you some serious strength. So looking at the diameter of that cup, we're sitting right at four and a half inches. And the height of just the cup itself, we're sitting right at about two inches.
And if you add that stainless steel eyelet pretty close to three and a half inches, so it's very portable, but yet it has a lot of holding power to it. So this is going to support up to 132 pounds horizontally and 88 pounds vertically. And this is made from really high quality materials. It's gonna be anodized aluminum and rubber, other similar vacuum cups that I've seen from other manufacturers, typically all plastic. So I'm really impressed with the build quality here from Moon, it's gonna hold up really well for you.
It's gonna be built to last. So insulation is going to be pretty simple. You wanna make sure that you clean the mounting surface and the pad, you wanna moisten that seal a little bit to give it a firm hold. Now, I'm not going to moisten it here, but I just wanted to give you a brief demonstration of how easy this is going to be to use and install. So you're just going to keep plunging until that white line disappears. I pressed firmly on there to kind of give it a start. And then as you can see, once that is mounted into place, it's going to hold really well for you. And then you wanna check it periodically and if you begin to see that line, then you'll just plunge that again to give that, to renew that hold if you will. And then this is gonna be very easy to remove. You've got two tabs right here, one on each side. And so you're just gonna push against those tabs and then as you can see, that's going to release the seal and then, then that's gonna come right off just like that. Now that said, there are a few things to keep in mind. You don't want to leave your MoonShade mounted while unattended and you wanna avoid using the MoonMounts on vinyl wraps or decals to prevent damage. Also for painted services, you do wanna be sure to remove them after about 48 hours to keep your finish looking its best. Now if you're wondering whether you need the round or the oval version as I have right here, the main difference comes down to the roof space that you have. So the round anchor is going to be great for a wider flat area, at least four and three quarters inches. And but if your SUV or if your truck roof has rain gutters, ridges, or narrower spaces, that oval MoonMount is gonna be a better fit. So if you think that oval MoonMount's gonna be what you need on your screen, I am including our item number. You can just take that item number and pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to the oval version and you can add that to your order instead. But again, I'm very impressed with the overall build quality and don't throw that cap away because when you're not using it, you can just use that cap to protect the base and keep that nice and clean while you are, while you have that in storage.
