Your high-demand RV propane equipment needs enough fuel to operate properly. If a standard pigtail restricts that flow, this 400,000 Btu/hr hose connects your cylinder to the regulator without becoming the bottleneck.
You've installed high-demand propane equipment, but the pigtail feeding the regulator can still become the restriction. If it doesn't support the flow your system requires, your equipment isn't getting the propane supply it needs. If something fails downstream and propane begins flowing faster than it normally would, you're dealing with an uncontrolled release of flammable gas. The built-in excess-flow feature restricts that flow. If fire exposes the cylinder connection to extreme heat, the built-in thermal link adds another layer of protection.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this MEC High-Flow RV Propane Pigtail Hose. Now, this is a 15-inch-long propane pigtail, and this hose is designed to connect your RV's propane cylinder to the regulator. And what really separates this one from a standard pigtail is its higher flow capacity. This can support up to 400,000 BTU per hour. So it is intended for RV setups with higher-demand propane equipment where a standard hose could potentially restrict the amount of propane getting to the system.
So on the cylinder side, this is going to have a Type 1 QCC ACME nut. And I went ahead and threw a picture up there previously just to show you where this is going to connect and how it's going to connect. The other end has 1/4 of an inch male NPT fitting that's gonna connect to a regulator with 1/4 of an inch female NPT inlet. And since this hose is only 15 inches long, you do wanna make sure that the length and those connections match your particular setup before picking this up. This hose has 1/4 of an inch inside diameter and a working pressure of 350 psig.
This is made from high-pressure thermoplastic, and it does use brass ferrules of the connections. And so there's also a couple of built-in protective features, as well. For instance, the excessive flow protection is designed to restrict propane flow if something downstream fails and causes an unusually high amount of propane to start flowing through the hose. There's also a thermal link at the cylinder connection that's going to add another layer of protection if that area is exposed to extreme heat from a fire. This hose is RVIA-compliant and NFPA 1192-compliant, as well.
