Today we're going to take a look at the Camco RV Olympian 4500 Stainless Steel Portable Gas Grill.Now, this gas grill lets you cook a delicious meal right outside your RV, and also works great for tailgating and patio grilling. It's made of a nice high quality, lightweight 304 stainless steel construction, and the burner on the inside is also a stainless steel burner that heats up very fast, easy to clean, and helps resist rust.Now, the lid, it is a latching lid. Has a latch on each side to provide secure transport. To open it up, you just unlatch that side, unlatch this side, and then you can see the lid will open right up. You can see it has the stainless steel burner with the stainless steel cover on it.Now, the regulator, right over here on this grill, it uses a 1" by 20 throwaway cylinder threads on it, so it is designed to connect to one pound disposable propane cylinders. This can be connected to a five pound, 20 pound, or 30 pound propane cylinder, but you do need to use propane hose assemblies, which we do sell separately on our website.
They're part number CAM59823 or CAM59825. The only difference between the two is one's a 5' and the other one's like a 12', so you use one of those assemblies. They are listed on this product page as a related product, so you can use either one of those assemblies to connect to a larger propane cylinder.The legs right here, they do fold in to let it set down and they fold out like this so it'll raise above any flat surface. You can mount this also to your RV's mounting rail using the Olympian RV mounting rail bracket that we sell separately. It's part number CAM58090.Now, this grill does have about 160 square inch cooking surface area.
It's big enough for a family of four or five, but the grill itself is a nice compact, portable design. It's perfect for the chef that has limited storage space.Now, you do receive this. It comes completely assembled for easy use. All you have to do is insert the regulator into the burner, and then connect your gas supply to be cooking. It does offer a grease tray at the very bottom that you can conveniently remove from the grill for easy cleaning.
The handle is a nice stay-cool handle. It's away from the lid, so it does stay cool, won't burn your hand when you're opening or closing it. It does come with this nice owner's manual to describe how to put it all together and how it operates. Heat output on this grill is 12,000 BTUs per hour.A few dimensions on this. The overall length, including the regulator, is going to be about 24" long.
The depth on it with the legs out is going to be about 11" deep, and the height from the legs out all the way up to the top is about 11" tall. The weight on it is only about 16 pounds. But again, you can see it has a very nice cooking area. And then when you go to transport, all you have to do is just latch this side closed, latch that one closed, the lid won't open and you can transport it wherever you need to.But that should do it for the review on the Camco RV Olympian 4500 Stainless Steel Portable Gas Grill.

Does exactly what it’s intended for - lighting gas appliances. Note that this unit produces continuous sparks when triggered, and does not make or sustain a flame of its own.
We received the CAM7305 and are happy with it and it looks like it will be just the size that we need for when we are out on the road with our RV. When we unpacked it and checked it out we found that the latch is faulty and called Camco. They requested a picture sent to them and it stated that they would send us a new one.
We absolutely love our new BBQ. I can't believe how high-quality and the sleek operation. The only thing is, through transit the grill inside bounced around and made dents on the top and sides of the BBQ. The only thing in my opinion needs to be improved is maybe more plastic ties. This would help to keep grills in place, so it doesn't damage exterior look of this amazing BBQ.

We absolutely LOVE this little grill and it hangs well on the mounting bracket installed on our new camper.
It seemed every time I tried to light the camp grill & stove, the starter was either it was out fuel, or the wind was blowing. No problem with this igniter. No fuel. It’s works by sparking. Similar to a piezo starter. Just pull the trigger and the sparking clicks until you let go of the trigger. We use it when camping. It’s great. I highly recommend it.

Great product , heats in minutes and hotter then most bbq that i had before, the cooking surface is greater then most portable bbq and the rack provided with it hold the bbq at a safe distance of the side of my little RV ... would buy another in a heartbeat. Strongly recommand A+
The battery compartment is just a little to small. Hard to fit install the battery. Not like my old lighter.
Took a very long time to get it. No notification from etrailer about it. Not typical of my normal experience.
Product delivered was exactly as shown on website. Was priced well. Delivered in excellent condition. Sales representatives done an excellent job. Cannot report on how well Item works yet because just getting things lined up for season of camping in our fifth wheel camper. The order and shippment process was excellent. It came well packaged and there wasn't any assembly for the grill itself. Love the pull out tray for grease and the liner that can be removed for cleaning... The burner assembly is protected by the liner, which will prolong the life of the grill.

Worked great when we had a camper. Works great on our boat. Works great on the patio. Would rather use this than most standard propane grills (for small grilling jobs. Heavy cast iron heat diffuser makes the difference. Great little grill.
I ordered my class V trailer ball mount for my 2500 2015 GMC truck and appreciated the information on the E trailer web site that helped me pick the correct amount of drop. The service was great,my only complaint is it would be nice to know that it was made in China.
High quality product. Operates as advertised. We've grilled so many delicious meals with this unit. It stores and cleans easily. Locking lid is nice. We use it with our pigtail gas outlet on our Siesta RV.
This is a fairly large lighter to store in a camper draw. It tool 4-5 seconds or more to lite a simple Coleman stove until it quite working. Would not recommend this product.
Over priced, poorly designed, heavy, and overheating is an understatement while no way to reduce the temperature without shutting down the intake line valve, and that becomes a trick. Don’t waste your money.
Just received product..installed battery and it works but havent tried it yet. Quick service. Received a call regarding a back order..really appreciate that. Usually you don't know about a back order until you havent received the item. Will definitely shop with etrailer again!
It's a great BBQ. The only reason for dropping a star is because I use the mount for the side of the RV and it attaches with just two small thumb screws to the thin gauge material on the bottom and this allows the unit to wobble side to side while in use and is hard to keep the BBQ level while mounted, thin material flexes too much where it's connected.
Otherwise and great size for a family of 5, can get all the steaks on it at once no problem. (P.S. thanks for reminding me to go modify it before our next trip HA HA!)
Received order as promised. The Olympian 6500 grill by Camco is a good grill for using with your low pressure RV LP gas system. A US manufactured product. Would highly recommend. etrailer is a great company to order from. Thanks.
I've had one of these for years, but it started to lose its spark. Time for a new one - a nice price from etrailer.
Great grill. We ordered the extra attachments to be able to use this at the park and to tailgate. I spent about fourty dollars on accesories to allow refilling of the 1lb canisters. We had our eyes on the 6500 but the iron heat sink sold me. The hot spots are almost non-existent and this grill gets HOT unlike the sidekick we are replacing. We can now quick connect to 20lb, 1lb, and to the low pressure RV quick connect.
Nice grill, just the right size for us. We tend to grill meat over charcoal, so this grill is intended for conveniently cooking foods like potatoes or fish wrapped in tinfoil. Excellent temperature control. I like the cast iron heat diffuser.
have not used this yet, but have had the same model before and worked great.
