This will replace your broken or worn out Dometic RV furnace. This doesn't include a backing plate or access door needed for a new installation. With 20,000 Btu of heat, we recommend this for RVs about 20' long.

Bigger isn't always better. Getting a furnace that's bigger than you need can cause problems. A major one is that it will burn even more propane than you need.
You really only need about 1,000 Btus for every foot of RV length. For example, a 20,000 Btu furnace would be good for a 20' trailer or motorhome.

Hello, neighbors and friends. Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at our Dometic RV furnace running on LP gas with an automatic pilot light, 12 volts of current DC, rated at 20,000 BTUs. Now folks, this unit is just as you see here. You get the unit. As you can see, there's no access door on it, so that would be one thing you would need to get separately and we'll talk about that a little later.
But first I wanna point out, again, 20,000 BTUs and I wanna go over some quick dimensions. That way you can be sure this is the right size, first and foremost. So, 12 inches wide, 20 inches long or deep, however you wanna call it, and seven inches tall. Now, like I said, you would need a door sold separately, but technically, you could just use this guy and put him on the outside of the camper, RV or whatnot, and it would be just as good and work fine for you. So keep that in mind.
I'm gonna put that to the side. Now, a furnace like this will quickly and efficiently heat the interior of your RV or camper. It's gonna replace, upgrade or just add a furnace if you need one, and it is propane powered. Underneath this black cover here is the propane access attachment point. That's just what they put on there for shipping purposes.
And it is again powered by propane, so if you are gonna need to do boondock or something, it's gonna be a great option for you. You can use it without electric hookups. Once again, that 12 volt automatic DSI gas pilot on these 12 volts of current and your battery on the camper, RV, travel trailer, whatnot, should be really sufficient to handle that part of it. Now, that automatic DSI gas pilot also will reduce the risk of gas leaks and also increase fuel efficiency. It can relight automatically until the heater gets switched off.
Now, the blower and everything inside this guy is a low air turbulent, so it's gonna provide quiet operation. The whole unit's compact. You can either install it horizontally like we have it today or vertically. So you got that flexibility. Now, up here on the front, you can see this control module. There's a little LED light down here, and if that flashes, it's flashing a diagnostic code. So when faults are present, it'll flash a couple times some kind of a sequence, and then per the instructions under troubleshooting, it'll tell you exactly what that diagnostic code means and then you can get that fault fixed. Now, once again, if you want to purchase an access door, that's sold separately along with a furnace control thermostat. That thermostat would be required for installation. I'll put those item numbers on the screen. We have that in the black and white as far as the access doors. Now that thermostat, keep in mind, it is what we call a mechanical thermostat. It's not digital. It's not wifi or anything like that. It's just a basic thermostat. The whole unit here is ETL certified. You're gonna get two mounting brackets with screws as far as mounting this unit. And if you notice, you've got cutout polyps here on the side, on the other side and one large one in the back. They give you two duck adapters included that you can use for installation and ventilation. Now, when I went through the instructions briefly, I also noticed you might possibly, depending on your application, you might need some number six or number eight by half inch panhead style screws, AB style, or what we know as self-tapping screws. You're also gonna need some butyl tape, most likely, to make the seal behind this or some RTV sealant of some sort. That way, you don't get moisture and water behind this and or the door, depending on what you choose for your application. Well, folks, I think that's gonna wrap it up. Just a quick look at our furnace today. Again, you've got plenty of wires here for hooking up the 12 volts of power. You've got the propane connection point. Again, a nice 20,000 rated BTU furnace by Dometic. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
