Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at this GE Appliances 15,000 BTU white Deluxe Plus RV air conditioner. Now, this is gonna be a great option for you to consider if you're looking to upgrade or add an air conditioner on your RV's ducted or ductless system in your medium to large camper. This 15,000 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to cool down the inside of your camper evenly and efficiently. And this does use the more energy-efficient R32 refrigerant which is going to meet the 2025 EPA regulations.
So because of that, this unit will not be backwards compatible with any air conditioner systems from 2024 and earlier. This will be a bolt-on installation, but hardware is not included. This is simply for the air conditioner unit itself. Now, you will need a compatible air distribution box that usually comes with the bolts, and then a control box, which is the brains of the operation, and the thermostat. And all of those components do need to be not only compatible with this air conditioner system, but also compatible with that R32 refrigerant.
So if you are in need of all those other components, we do carry complete systems from GE here at etrailer.com. And so you can check our website and find the appropriate system and kit that will work best for your particular application that's going to have everything that you need for a complete system that's going to be compatible with the R32 coolant. Now this is gonna fit roofs from two to six inches thick with an opening size of 14 3/8 inches long by 14 3/8 inches wide. Looking at the overall dimensions of the unit itself, we're sitting pretty close to 32 13/16 inches long. The overall width, 26 1/8 inches wide.
The overall height, right under 14 inches tall. And the weight, this is gonna be a little bit under 80 pounds. Now, this is gonna run quietly because the motor has sound-dampening grommets to help reduce that annoying humming and vibration sounds. And this is gonna be a pretty easy swap for you for most RVs. This is going to seamlessly install over your roof's preexisting roof vent opening.
And we do have foam pads here at the bottom, and the gasket here that's gonna go over the opening of your RV roof. So you're gonna have plenty of support, and those pads are gonna help limit that vibration and noise with this being mounted on the roof of your RV or camper. This is built tough for the road. It is constructed of high-grade material, so it's gonna withstand extreme UV rays and constant vibration. This does feature a white automotive-grade polymer shroud. It's a hard plastic shroud, so of course that's gonna protect the internal components from water and debris. It can be easily removed if you ever need to do any maintenance or cleaning it out. There's two Phillips head screws on either side that secures it in place. And then I wanted to give you a view of the wiring harness. This is gonna be tucked up underneath the air conditioner unit. So those are the connectors there. And you'll just pull that out from underneath this air conditioner and then plug that in when you run that through the opening of the vent of your RV on your roof. And you do want to keep the rear of this unit at least 18 inches away from any obstructions for airflow. And again, this is from GE, so it's a trusted brand, a reliable brand name known for appliances in the home and the kitchen in particular. So with this, you'll be bringing that trustworthiness and reliability into your RV. So if this is going to meet the specifications that you're looking for and you pick one up, we would love to hear back from you regarding your experience with this unit, with the installation and the operation. And you can do that by dropping us a comment or review on this product page letting us know how things worked out for you. We would love to hear back from you. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
Package showed up on time and works better than the one it replaced when it was new.
Can't really let you know of the product until I put it on the roof. I can only hope it lasts and outperforms it predecessor which only made it 2 years and 6-7 uses. Very disappointing. As for the assistance from the etrailer staff, it was fantastic. Great advice and all had uplifting personalities. Thank you.
Great AC/Heat Pumps unit, much more efficient and quieter than my old Dometic AC.
I would have liked there to be a mounting option that didn't require an air distribution box as my Fifth-Wheel does not have one, which created a complication during install. Aside from that, the install was fine, and it's been running well.
We replaced the standard GE A/C on our '22 Grand Design 22MLE with this after the Wago connector shorted out and caused a fire in the unit's control box. I probably didn't need to replace the whole unit because the damage was confined to just the control box and the wires to the A/C were spared.
The replacement went really smoothly. We used a ladder leaned on the roof of the camper at a low slope and made a plywood "sled" with blocks on the side to keep it on the ladder to pull the units up and down from the roof.
There was a glitch where the DC fuse to the unit was blown (they were mislabeled) and two white wires were tucked up in the unit that need to connect to the control box. GE tech help was very patient and understanding in helping me figure it out.
The people at etrailer are very nice and I do most of my business with them. They are always very knowledgeable of the products and make sure you get the right product.
The GE Heat Pump works great in all modes.
NOTE: We just installed the SoftStartRV from eTrailer and the unit is much quieter on start-up now. I suggest just getting it with the heat pump.
We are running the camper on a Craftsman 2500 watt generator (Generac) now.
Worked great. Easy install
A/C works great. Easy install.
