Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Dometic Penguin II high-efficiency 11,000 BTU white RV air conditioner. Now this air conditioner unit is going to let you replace, upgrade, or add a new Dometic Penguin II air conditioner to your RV or camper. The ultra-low profile design is going to help minimize wind resistance to improve fuel efficiency and give you additional overhead clearance. This 11,000 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to quickly and efficiently cool down the inside of your RV or camper. And this is going to be compatible with your ducted or ductless systems.
And I do wanna let you know that this is designed for motor homes and travel trailers and fifth wheels, but this has not been approved for use on school buses, food trucks, enclosed utility trailers, or off-roading vehicles, because typically, those types of roofs are not built with the support needed to support an air conditioner system on that roof. It could either flex too much and then cause damage to the air conditioner unit itself or to your vehicle or trailer. So just so you're aware of that. This will be a bolt-on installation. However, this does not include those bolts.
The hardware that you need to install this, the hardware typically comes with an air distribution box. You will need a manual air distri, air, a manual air distribution box, which is sold separately from this. This is just the air conditioning unit itself if you don't already have an air distribution box. Now, if you're looking for one, check out the Related Products tab on this product page and it should point you in the right direction. So this is going to fit roofs from 1 1/2 inches to six inches thick, with an opening size, 14 1/4 inches long by 14 1/4 inches wide.
The overall length of this unit is gonna be about 40 1/2 inches long. And then the overall width, we're sitting about 29 inches wide. The overall height about 11 1/4 inches tall. And I went ahead and removed the four Phillips head screws from this cover just so I could more easily and quickly remove it to give you a view of the inside. So let me set the cover off to the side here.
And I wanna start by giving you just kind of a lower look here and giving this a spin just so you can take a good look at the inside there. So this is, this air conditioner features a high-performance motor and fan that's going to give you a sufficient airflow. The advanced cooling is going to help eliminate hotspots. Let me go, let me give you an overhead view as well. So it's going to distribute the cool air evenly throughout your RV, again, eliminating those hotspots. And this is going to have a quiet operation, which is going to ensure a more peaceful atmosphere than most traditional air conditioner units. And the efficient design requires less refrigerant than most traditional air conditioner units, and that's gonna, of course, help reduce operational costs. And this does use the refrigerant R-410A. And then the foam seals that you see here are going to help prevent heat transfer. The cover here, obviously, it's white, and it's made out of a pretty durable piece of plastic. And so I think it's gonna do a great job of protecting the internal components from dirt and debris and moisture. And if forever, what for, if for any reason you need to remove this cover to do some cleaning or some maintenance, again, all you have to do is remove those four Phillips head screws, pop the cover off, and then you saw how easy it was to pop the cover back on, replace the four screws, and then you'll be on your way. I wanna give you another closeup view here real quick. You probably won't be able to see it too well, but we do have these foam pads. By the way, the base is a metal pan here. And then we got these foam pads here that's gonna give you stability. It's gonna help reduce vibration. And of course, you've got the gasket there that's going to seal over the opening. I wanted to give you a good look of the wiring harness as well, and you can see it right there. But I think it's gonna wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that our brief time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
NO obvious damage. Will let you know if all is well after installation. When purchasing from another vendor, two shipments were both damaged upon arrival. Thanks for sending the Dometic without it being dropped off the back of a truck.
