Hi everyone, I'm Evangeline here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Front Runner awning room. And this is gonna be a room designed specifically for your Easy-Out Awning. There are different sizes of awnings so make sure to get the appropriate room size, but this then adds four walls, two windows, two doors, to your awning set up, adding more privacy, more shade, a great way to enjoy your adventures outside while enjoying the comforts of sort of being inside. There's a bunch of tent and awning brands out there, and a lot of them seem to be adding screen rooms, accessories, walls, things like that to their awnings. So what makes Front Runner any different Well, Front Runner really is a brand for people that want a quality product but not spend extra for features they may not need.

And you'll see that with this screen room and awning set up here. And a lot of people actually get the awning so that they can get the screen room, so that they can get the mosquito walls, things like that, because it really does work together as one full unit. You're not gonna get the same premium features you may see on some other awning brands but you are gonna see some really good construction all around. So we'll walk through the screen room and awning, so that you can see for yourself what it is made of, how it works, and then decide if it is the right fit for you and your adventures. For our room here, it's gonna have a 400 D of polyester material.

What that means it, is a very durable material, you're gonna have some water resistance to it, some UV resistance as well. I always look at stitching as the first thing just to judge the quality, and we have some really good stitching all around, reinforce stitches here. Everything is hemmed so I'm not worried about threads fraying over time. All in all, if a quick rainstorm was to kick up or if people was running around, dogs we inchesre running around the campsite, I've been pretty assured that the material's gonna hold up. On the side walls on each side, there is gonna be some fabric.

So you roll up the fabric over there, roll down the fabric down here, and now you have your window. So you have a pretty fine mosquito mesh here, I'm not concerned about mosquitoes coming in through these windows but I am slightly concerned about insects coming in through the bottom of the room. That is because this does not immediately come with a floor. So you can zip a floor to your room if you wanna make it waterproof, but otherwise, if you have a big gust of wind or if you're on let's say grass that's pretty tall, insects can potentially wander in, into the interior of the tent. Now, I'm not too concerned about it because there's a decent flap here at the bottom.

All you need to do is lower your room down to get a bit more coverage but it's not fully waterproof or insect proof with it as is. There's two windows and there's two doors, so obviously the first door is gonna be your entryway door, but the second door on the other side is gonna be for access to your vehicle. So if you're hanging out here, you have this off of the side of your vehicle, you can then get access in there, grab whatever stuff and things you may want to store in there. Usually that's gonna be food or items you may not want exposed out to potentially bugs or critters. If you're used to camping out in tents, you'll notice instantly that an awning room is gonna be different, especially with its shape. Since it has more of a box shape, you won't have a tapered top but you'll rather have a flat ceiling that does tend to dip down sometimes, depending on the tension of your awning. So some things to consider is if you need more headroom. The cool thing is you can always raise the legs of your awning. Also, compared to tents where the ceiling is exposed to the rain, it's the awning itself that will be holding the rain and not the tent so it's okay that it dips down like this. Now this looks fine with the windows open to the side of us, but when you close those windows, it can get dark in here. So I do recommend taking a look at the Front Runner LED Light Strip. This is usually secured inside your screen room or inside your room to add some light at night. Your Front Runner awning is gonna provide most of the support for your room. Since this screen room just clips onto the poles, that's what's creating that shape. And your main focus is gonna be securing your actual awning with stakes guidelines, things like that. But you also have stakes included with this room to secure the sides or the bottom of that room. So if wind tends to blow this up, and again you are concerned about bugs and things like that coming in underneath the awning room, then go ahead and stake down all of those different ropes. They have very easy to use D-rings and strong straps to give that stability. All in all, I do think it checks off most of the boxes that you would expect from a awning room, especially with used with a Front Runner awning. Very easy to set up. The fact that it just clips into all the different poles and slides into your awning is awesome as long as you get the correct room for the correct awning size. So it does depend what are you looking for What are your priorities when you travel If you have a Front Runner rack, should you get the Front Runner awning and room as well I think it is a great investment, especially since at the price point the materials, the quality look great and everything works great. You can always add extra things like lights, mattress, your kitchen area, your camping tables, patio mats, things like that in addition to this, if you want extra comfort. To get this first set up, what you need to do is unpack the awning room and then find the side that has the door, that's the one that you slide into the track up front. What I then do is I keep it mostly unzipped so that I can reach over and slide the back one through the back track. Once both of those things are in place, all you need to do is then clip in the sides as well as the tops, make sure everything's zipped up, and now your awning room is all set up.
