You're a homeowner who wants commercial power and professional results. This hydraulic snowplow gives you full control from your 1/2-ton cab and clears a wide path with each pass, so you can handle big storms and finish your long driveway.
When the storm hits, you stay in control. Forget jumping into the cold to manhandle a manual blade; you can control this blade from the comfort of your cab with the wired pistol grip. Hydraulic power makes it easy to lift, lower, or angle for drifts, piles, and packed snow. It's fast, responsive, and built for homeowners who like to be in command of their own equipment.
When the snow starts stacking up, this wide 7'6" blade keeps you ahead of it. It's wider than other residential HomePlows, so each pass clears a broader path. You'll have fewer runs up and down the driveway and a finish that looks like it was done with a commercial rig. That extra width also keeps your tires on cleared pavement instead of tracking through snow. It's built to manage 8" - 10" of snow at a time, but the trick is timing. Snow consistency can change from one hour to the next, so if you plow during the storm instead of after it, you'll have an easier job.
The set up takes seconds. So when the forecast calls for 6" and those first flakes start coming down, you can hitch up before they stick. With the caster wheels installed, roll the plow to your truck, line up the receiver, and slide the lift frame into place. Pin it, connect the wiring harness, and you're ready to plow. When the storm passes, wheel it back to storage until the next one hits, and take comfort in knowing you'll be ready before winter's next surprise.
If you catch a buried object, the blade tips forward and glides over it instead of jolting you to a stop. Once it clears, it resets automatically so you can stay focused on the next pass. It's made to protect both you and your truck when the driveway fights back.

Hi, I'm Danny with etrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at the Meyer HomePlow, that is residential, and it is hydraulic as well. We got our first big snow here in Missouri, so we decided to get our plow and take it out for a spin, so I'll get in the cab and we'll see how this works. This plow is really easy to use, and you can use it from inside your cab. The remote control is really easy, all you have to do is turn it on, and you have all your controls right here. So, I can lift it up if I'm ready to drive around, but when I'm ready to plow, I'll lower it down, and we can get to plowing some snow. (bucket scraping) We can move the bucket left and right while I'm plowing if I need to push it over to the side.
(bucket scraping) Now, another thing to note is, when you are plowing and you maybe have some bigger cracks in your driveway, you don't have to worry about that snagging and ruining your vehicle or your plow. There's actually a built-in spring, so that whole plow will actually tilt forward and then spring back so you can continue plowing. (bucket scraping) This plow is designed to be used with SUVs or 1/2-ton trucks, and if you have a large driveway that you're planning on plowing, it's gonna be great if you wanna stay dry inside your cab and just hook it up inside your garage. Now, I took this one out and the WingMan out for a spin. That one's just a little more beefed-up version.
So, maybe if you have maybe a small business or a large parking lot, I would recommend maybe upgrading to the WingMan. It's got lights on there and the bucket can raise just a little bit. But like I said, if you're just doing maybe a large driveway or a small parking lot, this is gonna work great. Now that you've seen this thing plow some snow, we've got it pulled in the shop and we'll just go through how it gets mounted to the vehicle and how this thing works. You will need to get a front hitch installed on your vehicle, and this is gonna be a two-inch by two-inch hitch receiver to accept your plow.
Now, do check our Fit Guide on our website and you can plug your vehicle in. You can see what kind of front hitch that is gonna be suitable for your vehicle. Now, I can show you how to take this out, and it's got caster wheels so you can roll this around. So, this rear one, get that removed, and placed in the down position. I did leave this plugged in and I raised the bucket a little bit so I can get the caster wheels on the front installed.
Get these flipped around on both sides. (pin rustling) Using our remote, I'll just lower it back down on those wheels, and I'll take the pin out of our hitch. I'll unplug our harness. Make sure to put those caps back in place. This can be a little bit difficult to get in and out, especially if you have a front inch that's a little bit higher up. We used three people and we actually pulled it out, but since it was so high up, that back wheel kinda dropped a bit. Now, you may want a third person supporting the back of it, but I'll give you a measurement here of our hitch shank. And this is about level, and it's about a foot off the ground, 12 inches. So, that'll help you measure your front hitch and see if that's gonna be a struggle for you. Now, when you're done using this for the winter season, you can just roll this in your garage and store this away. And these caster wheels are pretty good on this smooth floor. It rolls really nice. You can just set this in a corner until next time. I was talking about earlier how if you hit a big crack that you don't have to worry about damaging your plow or your vehicle. And these are the two large springs on the back that basically will bend this all the way forward if you hit that crack, and then it'll snap back into place after you've run over the crack. This chain on front is gonna attach to your hydraulic arm that's gonna control your up-and-down movements. Now, setting this is really easy. You just have to maneuver it around, and you can pull it through to tighten or loosen, and they recommend pulling it tight and then loosening it a couple of links just so you can have it touch the ground and skip over any bumps when you're plowing. This has two hydraulic arms. The top one's gonna be your up-and-down movements, of course, and this is going to control your left and right. Now, why would you want hydraulics over electric Well, hydraulics, it's a lot faster, so it'll respond a lot quicker than electric. And electric can draw a lot of power from your battery, so that's another plus. And they're just better in the cold, so electric motors can freeze up a lot quicker than the hydraulic can. This plow will come in two different widths. It's going to be a 7'6" or a 6'8". It's gonna be 22 inches tall as well, and this cutting edge is gonna be five inches. Something to keep in mind about this five-inch cutting edge is, when you're plowing, it's gonna be eating away at this, so you definitely wanna replace this before it starts getting into your plow itself. This plow is capable of clearing eight to 10 inches of snow per pass. Now, if it's gonna be a big storm, I would recommend getting out there and clearing while it's still coming down. It's just gonna make it a lot easier. Some things to consider is, this is a lot of weight on the front of your vehicle, so definitely check your front-end sag and see if you need front-end suspension enhancement, like maybe some Timbrens. And again, check our Fit Guide, and we can set you up with some of those as well. Some of the things we consider is check your owner's manual and make sure that your gross vehicle weight rating and your gross axle weight rating is going to be enough to support the load on your front. Now we'll get into how this gets installed on your vehicle. Now, we did just set this up pretty quickly, 'cause it was snowing and we wanted to get a quick demo, so you can route this a lot better than we did. But we'll start here at the front where our plug is, and this gets routed through our grille, and we just did this quickly, but you can route this over here. But now this goes to our battery, and it just gets plugged into the positive side, and then the ground gets grounded or you can put it on your ground on your battery. And the wiring harness by your connection points is going to have a plug where you can plug this extension in. This is going to get plugged into our remote, and there's gonna be a next to this, and I would recommend pulling that fuse out when you're connecting that positive. And then we can plug this in, and get this routed inside our cab. So, you can just zip-tie this anywhere you can, and just stay away from anything hot or moving, of course. And a lot of newer vehicles, they'll have a grommet somewhere in the firewall you can enter, but if you need to drill a hole, then that's also an option. But just zip-tie this in and get that into our cab. Now, with that routed up into the cab here, we can plug in our remote. That'll just snap in, and start using it. Overall, the install is gonna be extremely easy, and it is gonna be a great option if you're just somebody who wants to plow your driveway and stay warm inside your cab during those winter seasons. And that was a look at the Meyer HomePlow. Now, if you have any further questions about what plow plows gonna work best for your front hitch and for your truck, please feel free to reach out to us here at etrailer. Other than that, I'm Daniel, thanks for watching.
Received plow on Monday
Simple attachment to Tundra on Tuesday. First snow of the season Wednesday 6". I have a 1/4 mile driveway paved on the switch backs and road base on the straight aways that rises 60 feet in elevation. Struggled with traction with a skid loader last year. This plow worked great on my Tundra without chains. I'm on a mountain top and can't wait for the big snow.
