Hi everybody, Andy here with Etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at this replacement 12-volt hydraulic power unit for your Meyer Super V snowplow. Now typically I would have this upright, the way that it's supposed to be installed, but because of its shape and because of its weight, I do have this laying down because I wasn't able to get it properly in the position on my table. So I'm gonna give you an overhead view, showing you the proper orientation. So this is gonna be the bottom and this is gonna be the top. So this hydraulic power unit is used on certain Meyer V plow systems, specifically the V series, the V70 series, rather.
So in simple terms, this is really the heart of the plow's hydraulic system. It's the component that actually creates the hydraulic pressure that you need to raise or lower your plow, to angle the wings left and right, and to move the plow into its V, scoop, or straight configurations. Now this is going to be just the unit only, meaning it's the pump, motor, and valve assembly, not the entire plow setup. So what you see here on my table is going to be exactly what you get. Of course, this is designed for your 12-volt systems, which is the standard for most truck-mounted snowplows.
And if you probably notice, there's a glisten of oil on this and you can see some oil here as well in the reservoir. Mine has oil in it. It was used to test it from the factory, so yours might have some oil as well, just to make you aware of that. This one has not been used. It's just been tested from the factory.
So if your plow pump has failed, it's leaking internally, or it isn't building up pressure properly, this is the direct replacement for the original hydraulic unit on those V70 plows. And so since this is directly from Meyer, you're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues, commitment issues or anything like that on those V70 series snow plows.
