Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this PowerMax AC to DC lower replacement converter tray with built-in battery charger. Now if you're looking to replace the lower section of an RV power converter, this is basically a drop-in AC to DC power converter and smart battery charger. Its job is simple but important when your RV is plugged into shore power. This takes the regular 110 volt AC power and turns it into 12 volt DC power, the kind of power that runs your RV lights, water pump, fans and other 12 volt accessories run on.
And at the same time, this also works as a 45 amp smart battery charger, meaning it not only charges your RV's battery, but it does so in a controlled three stage process. That's gonna help maintain your battery health and extend its lifespan. It's automatically going to switch between bulk charging, topping off and maintenance mode, so you don't have to worry about overcharging. This is designed to be a replacement lower converter section for many RV power distribution centers, especially those similar to the WFCO 8900 Series on your screen. I also have MBA and other brands of lower trade converters.
This will be a good replacement for, so this is gonna be ideal if your old converter quits working, but your panel box is still in good shape. Insulation is typically straightforward because the module is made to slide into the existing compartment and just hook up to your current wiring as you see here. So this is gonna be a solid, reliable option if you want something that powers your RV's 12 volt system, charges and maintains your battery automatically. Fits as a replacement in many standard RV converter panels and gives you enough power, 45 amps for most mid-size RV setups.
