Compatibility of Aries Oval Nerf Bars With OEM Step Bar Brackets on 2012 GMC Sierra
Curt has never tested that, so unfortunately they couldn't say. The brackets connect to the bars by using 4 vertical bolts that slide into the underside of the nerf bar, which is a fairly unique installation so if I had to take a guess, I'd say that the OEM brackets wouldn't be compatible with the step bars. You'll be better off using the entire # AA4445045 kit using brackets that are meant to work with the step bars.
