Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at the Aries AdvantEDGE line of nerf bars. Now, not only can you get those nerf bars in that AdvantEDGE line, but you can also get a front bull bar and headache rack that's all gonna match. So if you're really trying to deck your truck out and you want it to really look cohesive, you can do that with the AdvantEDGE line. And when it comes to getting a fit on your vehicle, there's a ton of different options and they all use custom brackets that are specifically designed for your vehicle's application. So even though we did this on a Silverado 2500 today, there's options for Ford, Dodge, and really any big main truck that you can think of.
And they're all gonna be bolt-in installation, making it super easy. But all of 'em are gonna share this similar look. They're aluminum, which is nice for installation because it's light but also because this is gonna be on the bottom portion where in the Midwest, normally, we see rust along this cab corner or the rockers. This area of the truck sees pretty much whatever you drive through, whether it be mud, snow, rain, salt, whatever. You can see kind of the splatter that we have on the side of our truck even with the mud flap up front, so these are gonna be exposed to all of that.
And the good thing being aluminum, it's gonna be rust proof. So this isn't gonna rust out. You might've seen some old steel nerf bars on vehicles, and they're just gone. That's not the case here. Aluminum's gonna hold up to that.
And this black powder coat finish looks really sharp. I did mention that we do have a chrome version as well so, again, you can kinda make that look however you want in your truck. But you'll see this portion that has the hexagonal shapes. This is the pad that you step on. It's got a nice, almost hammered texture to it that's gonna give you extra traction.
And that's the main point of a nerf bar is gonna be getting in and out of the truck easier for anyone that, you know, maybe kids or struggling with mobility or just a normal person. This is a new touch point that helps you get in and out of your truck and having this texture means that it's gonna be slip resistant. But also, these pockets are gonna trap any water, snow, mud, whatever you have. And that way, you can get that sure-foot feeling when you hop in the truck. But this texture is also good for holding up to chips and scratches long term. So if you have rocks or whatever built into your shoe and you step on here, it's gonna hold up to those scratches and it really does a good job of hiding them. The width on these are gonna be 5-1/2 inches. Length is gonna be varied on which, you know, application you have or vehicle. 5-1/2 inches, I think, is perfect. It's not too much where it looks ridiculous. These look really clean, and I have them maxed out all the way. That's the cool thing with these brackets. There is adjustability front, back, in, out, however you need it. So this is fully out. This allows me to get my foot on here no problem and easily get in the truck. So that's something you may wanna consider. If you want a cleaner look, you could draw these in a little bit. You are gonna sacrifice some of that real estate for your foot to step on, but that's completely up to you. You know, you can always start with it like this. If you're not happy with it and you wanna draw it in a little bit more, you can absolutely do that and vice versa. Now, when it comes to the installation of this, I mentioned it's no drill. It's gonna be dependent on your vehicle of how it actually bolts up, but it's gonna be a similar concept of really just threading in hardware. This is a super easy install to do, and it's one of those modifications that you'll do to a vehicle that you get to use every single time. Some modifications you do and, yeah, you may use it when you tow or you may not even notice it's there. This is something every time you hop in and out of your truck, you're gonna be happy it's there. You're not gonna have to get that running start or grab a hold of that A pillar to hop in, and the same goes for all your passengers. Quad cab trucks are kind of the norm these days, and more times than not, people are using 'em as family haulers just as much as they are work trucks. So if you have kids and they're struggling to get in your truck, this is a great way to do it. Especially if you have a lift on there, this is gonna make them a lot happier. Same goes for, again, you know, if it's a truck that you're gonna keep forever, think of yourself long term. Mobility goes down, unfortunately, sometimes as you get older, and this is a great way to make sure that you can still get in and out with no stress, nice solid footing. So just a really great install and overall product. And it's really gonna just change the feel of your truck. So if you watched this video and you're kinda on the fence whether or not to get this style of nerf bars, I think this is a great one. The look overall, I think, is fantastic and I think it's really neat that there's other accessories that you can add on later and it's all gonna look cohesive because it's in that same line. You don't see that too often with other nerf bars that are out there. Now, if you are, you know, doing construction out in the mud quite often, there are other more aggressive options. But for a truck that you can daily drive, you know, that's gonna be a clean look overall and still have plenty of usability, I don't think you can go wrong with the Aries AdvantEDGE. So hopefully, this video helps decide if these are gonna be the right ones for your vehicle.
Product arrived quickly and was pretty easy to install. Did it by myself in about an hour or so.
They look great and after a year still holding up fine.
Great Customer service
Love these great look, sturdy and easy to install.
Super easy to install and they look awe some.
Appears to be a quality set of bars, haven't installed them yet so I'll write more later. Fast service\shipping.
The running boards are amazing and look aggressive on the truck. I get compliments from the dealer when I take it in for routine maintenance. Etrailer makes installation easy with videos and written instructions.
Excellent fits perfect
The easiest install I have had and they look great. Excellent quality.
After one year, i'm just as happy with these nerf bars. The black power coat still looks great.
Good price, etrailer rep "DavidL" was excellent to work with. Fast delivery. Parts fit excellent and very happy with this purchase. I tried to purchase the same running boards from Amazon - having to cancel after over 2 months of poor communication and not receiving my parts.
Great product! Quality 2nd to none. Easy install!! Highly recommend!!
Very easy to install. No drilling required only took me about 30 minutes. They do look sharp. My only issue is they cannot extend back far enough for me to stand on to reach inside the bed. Most likely since it is a dually.
Easy to install. Rails do what they are supposed to do and look good also.
A very sturdy and good-looking product. Pretty easy to install too.
The bars are of good quality. The installation was quite straightforward. The most challenging part was not scratching the skin on my hands while installing the clip nuts. Three brackets supplied with the boards should be enough (I used the 2 forward frame holes and the rear one, so the board span for the rear doors is longer than the one for the front).
The bars/brackets fit Chevy Colorado 2024 even though the site says that the fit is not confirmed. I verified the fitment on the Aries website prior to ordering.
Great service...competitive price.
My wife is happy to be able enter and exit the truck with ease.
Light weight yet sstrong.
I would recommend this product
The fit and finish is excellent. The bars can be adjusted front to back and in and out which allows you to place them exactly where they work best for you.
As for the installation instructions, well, they need work. The diagram shown may or may not conform to your truck. Just keep in mind that each mounting bracket will be bolted to your truck at two points. Aries customer service guy told me one bolt. Diagram makes it like like three. It’s two, at least for my Ram 2500.
Total install time was about 90 minutes.
