Video Transcript for Detailed Breakdown of the Rutgers 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Rutgers 2" hitch cover from AMG. This hitch cover is going to allow you to show your school pride. It's going to add a clean finished look to your hitch and it's going to help keep dirt and grime out of the receiver tube of your hitch. The hitch cover's made from a steel construction. It's going to have a really nice black powder coat finish on it which is going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. Here at the front we're going to have the large R, that's a chrome plated metal emblem.

It's got a nice rust proof and fade proof design. The product is American made. Here on the back side, it's got a foam gasket that goes around the area that slides into the hitch. That foam gasket's going to do a great job at reducing rattling between the hitch and the hitch cover. This is an officially licensed product. When installing it, it does require a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock.

Those items are sold separately but if you're in need of one, you can find them here at etrailer.com. The pin holes on the hitch cover will accept a standard 5/8" diameter pin. Now when it comes to the dimensions here at the hitch cover face, it's going to give us an overall width of about 5" with an overall height of 3 1/2". The distance that we have from the back of the foam pad to the center of the hitch pin hole is going to be pretty close to 2 1/2". Now this is designed for a 2" x 2" hitch.

Very simple installation. Just slide it into the receiver tube of your hitch, line up your pin holes and secure it with a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock. That's going to do it for today's look at the Rutgers 2" hitch cover from AMG.
