Hello neighbors and friends, Steven here with etrailer.com. Folks, today we're taking a look at our TowSmart trailer hitch receiver, and it's a custom fit class three two inch receiver hitch. So folks, this is again a custom fit. Make sure you're checking our fit guide here at etrailer.com. It looks like this guy fits a lot of the Dodge Ram 1500 series trucks. Make sure you're checking our fit guide year, make, and model at the top center of our homepage to be sure you're getting the right parts the first time.
Now folks, what's cool about this is it's gonna go under the bumper, right where the hole for the ball usually goes. This large bolt here would come down from the top and thread into that, making it nice and tight. And then you got this welded on nut piece that would go over that part as well. And then the two bolts and washers would line up coming from the bottom up into there. So a nice design, I think it's kind of neat myself how you can add this to a bumper without having to add a full tube assembly and those kind of things.
And it's still got an impressive 6,000 pounds gross trailer weight rating. Tongue weight's gonna be 600 pounds. It is not made to be used with weight distribution systems. Again, bolt-on installation, no welding. You're gonna get everything you see here, all the hardware.
It has a nice black powder coat finish over everything. You would need a hitch pin and clip and a ball mount that's sold separately if you don't already have one. And as you can see, it is hollow all the way through, but this part here is welded onto the back. So obviously your shank and everything couldn't go past that. So that being said, I wanna get a quick measurement of the depth over here.
Now I'm gonna go from where it would touch to the front of the hitch receiver, and I got about five and a half inches. So again, that's going back here by my thumb where the shank, if you slid in here, would hit or bottom out at is approximately five and a half inches. I'd call it five inches to be safe. So again, five inches. Now from the hitch pin hole back, let's get that measurement. That's probably actually more important really. Let's say three inches. It could be three and a quarter depending on your ball mount shank, how far it goes back there. But let's say three to three and a quarter to be safe. Well folks, that's gonna wrap it up. Thanks for joining me today where we take a quick look at this custom class three receiver hitch by TowSmart. I'm Steven. Have a good one.
Fit perfect great product
