i have a 2012 GMC Sierra Z71 1500. i ordered the heavier duty hitch because it said it would bolt directly using factory holes. unfortunately that is not the case. i needed to notch the hitch so it would fit around the spring assembly connection. not sure if thats what its called. i used those pieces i cut as washers to make the third bolt connection closest to the end of the bed. just be aware if looking to beef up your hitch. No images because i was too busy trying to get it done.
