Note: Always replace your struts in pairs, where applicable. Most liftgates have a strut on each side. Failure to replace both struts can result in a warped or damaged hinge.
Gas Strut with Exceptional Stability
Most gas struts consist of a tube filled with pressurized nitrogen gas, a piston, and rod. The Atlas Lift strut, however, has a dynamic damping groove inside the tube that regulates gas movement across the piston. This ensures your liftgate stays open when you want it open and shuts slowly without slamming. Lastly, in contrast to struts that only have gas in the chamber, a few drops of oil have been mixed in to help seal the piston and lubricate the rod. This allows your liftgate to move more smoothly as the rod travels in and out of the tube.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at this Atlas lift custom fit liftgate gas strut. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2004 to 2015 Nissan Titan vehicles. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year, model, vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now basically, if your vehicle's liftgate keeps closing while you're unloading cargo, then it's time to change out your strut.
This part here will replace one worn or damaged gas strut on your vehicle's liftgate. Use the dampening groove, which is inside the tube, prevents bouncing, provides a nice, smooth operation in any temperature. It'll extend the rod out from the tube to open the liftgate and hold it in place and it'll compress the rod slowly to close the lift gate without slamming shut. Uses an internal wiper to prevent sticking, reduces friction by lubricating the rod with oil, and it is a quick tool-free installation. It'll connect directly to your vehicle's OEM fittings.
The connection type on this, as you can see, is a ball socket on each end. It is a black powder-coated steel tube. Has a nice nitrate coated rod, which is rust-resistant. You can see it has this nice rubber coating or this rubber cover over it to protect that rod. It is for a quantity of one gas strut.
Now the length on this when it's fully compressed, is about 11-5/16 of an inch. When it's fully extended out, is about 14-15/16 of an inch. Now a note I do wanna mention is you do wanna always replace your struts in pairs where applicable. Most lift gates have a strut on each side and failure to replace both struts could resolve in a warped or damaged hinge. Now if you do have any additional questions regarding this gas strut or any other item we carry, please feel free to reach out to us so we can help you get all of your questions answered for you.
But that's gonna do it for a look at this Atlas lift custom fit liftgate gas strut.
