Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer, if you're working outside a whole lot or you're going outside and getting a lot of dirt, mud, sand, whatever debris on your shoes and you don't want to track that back in your 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe, then the WeatherTech custom auto floor mats are gonna be a great option for you. So let's check 'em out. And installing them is really easy. Now I'm doing this from the driver's side just so you guys can get a better look at this. Typically I just do it from the passenger side or whatever side I'm on, and all we're really doing is, is matching up to the contours of our vehicle. So we get to the bottom, you notice we have this hole or this notch cut out, this is gonna grab onto this nib at the bottom and just push it into place, push against it, it'll grab on.
And this is really giving us a pretty good fit. Now we do have a couple gaps here and there, like right here for instance, we are getting, this is maybe like a half inch gap here, but what is gonna happen over time is when you use these and sit in here, your feet are gonna press down. And this is really gonna start to learn its shape, especially on those hotter days when this material loosens up. They really learn the shape of your vehicle. But we're also getting some pretty high sidewalls right now.
As you can see, even right here, a majority of this carpeted flooring is gonna be covered. And one spot that we're gonna want covered too is gonna be way up here at this location where your feet primarily are gonna be sitting. And overall, I am liking the fit. And what's better too is we're gonna have these channels, and these channels what their purposes is, is for when any of that debris does fall off your shoe. It's gonna keep your foot above whatever that is.
So it's not constant making contact with your feet and getting back on your shoes. The driver's side's also gonna be a great fit too. It is gonna have a few differences. Instead of just one nib that grabs on, we're gonna have two nibs, we have one here, and then closer to the side. That's gonna be kind of hard for you to see.
And the second difference is how the end of it is shaped. This is really to accommodate our pedals and this dead pedal area right here. Now what can happen with a lot of floor mats is they have a cutout right here. So any debris can really fall in between this crack, but we won't have that issue today. And of course, this is gonna go around your pedal, so it shouldn't interfere as you're driving. And these mats are gonna be really easy to clean. When it's time to, you have two options. If it's just kind of scuffed up, you just go in there with a rag, wipe most of that up. But if you have a lot of debris in there, what you can do is just simply take it out. That can be a little bit difficult sometimes because this is a tougher material, especially on the driver's side. 'Cause as you can see, this is pretty stiff, but it holds its shape pretty well. And on the passenger side, I think this is gonna be great when you do have to dump it out and afterwards hose it off and let it dry. Now, if you're not a big fan of this material, because one of the downsides is if you're getting in and if your foot kind of drags across the edge of your vehicle a lot, this might get caught on there and it's gonna start to fold. And if it does it enough, it's gonna learn that shape and give you an awkward fit. Now, something that does solve that is gonna be WeatherTech's all weather floor mats. They're gonna be this very loose material that is gonna be a lot more flexible than this. But each one of them is gonna have their benefits or the pros and cons. And I think for most cases, and the way these fit, these are probably gonna be my top choice. But that was just a look at the WeatherTech custom auto floor mats in our 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe.
