What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out the WeatherTech front floors mats on our 2021 Subaru Forester. Taking a closer look at the mat, you can see that it's a custom floor mat, so it goes all the way around our floorboard of our Subaru. It fits it very well. You can see it comes up pretty high here on the sides to protect that carpet. It also uses the same clip on points as your standard floor mat.
See, I can move it around just a little bit but it's not slipping and sliding around. So, I really like that. Some of the floor mats I have in my vehicle slide around a whole bunch and I like that it has these pin points and digs in there pretty good. And then it even comes up underneath the pedals. So, maybe if you have anything on your shoes, it's pretty much protected all around here.
The outside of the mat is gonna be rubberized. Inside, it's gonna be a plastic core, so, it is kind of a rigid mat. So, it's not just like one of those rubber mats that goes down into place and can just fold over on itself. When I put this up and remove it, you can see it stays rigid just like that. So, that's gonna be good for collecting those spills.
If you wanna take this out here, there's quite a bit of room in here to lift this up and out. It just might be kind of difficult to, since you can't bend it is easily. The other ones you bend, you kind of just wanna keep that spill in the middle. On this one, it's not gonna be as easy to do that but it's gonna hold its shape much better that way. Moving onto the passenger side, this one fits just as well for the custom floor mat on this side.
You can see it still has got those side walls that are up high. Something I wanna point out that on both of these two are the grooves that are built in there. These are gonna be channels for if you spill water, coffee or soda, any kind of liquid that comes down in here these channels are made to make sure that water moves to down this portion here that has an indention 'cause that's where it's gonna keep that spilled liquid. Now WeatherTech offers another option for a floor mat and that one is gonna be their HP line. So, that one's gonna be more of a straight up rubber floor mat, like I was talking about earlier. It's gonna be way easier to bend and it's not gonna hold its shape. And some good things with that is that's gonna lay down in there really nicely on the floorboard. Also, it's not gonna have, they had aggressive logo on it, so this one has aggressive WeatherTech logo. If that sticks out too much and that's not something you really like seeing down there that one's more printed in on the mat itself. Something else I want you to see is if you looked here at the floorboard you can see where the factory mat was sitting. So, around that is all that mess there. So, there's a bunch of dirt and debris there and that's left over from the factory mat. Now the WeatherTech mat covers all that area up so you wouldn't have that mess with this mat. Overall, I think this is gonna be a great addition to your Subaru. It's gonna really help keep that interior clean because it is a pain to get that vacuum out and clean all that up. It'd be far easier just to take this mat out, dump it or wash it and put it back in. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. And I hope this helps..
