Today in our 2017 Honda Pilot we'll be having a look at and installing the WeatherTech Cargo Liner available in gray, as part number WT42818, in tan as part number WT41818, and in black as part number WT40818. Here's what our cargo liner looks like installed. As you can see, it offers complete coverage from our rear cargo area, all the way up to our second-row seats, when our third-row seats are folded down. Around the entire perimeter of our mat we have a raised lip, which will help contain any spills that may occur, and prevent them from damaging our carpet. Additionally, we have nice cutouts here inside of our mat for our cargo retention hooks. If we need to strap something down into our cargo area with our mat in place, we can still do that. The entire surface of our mat has these nice channels right here that will help collect any dirt, debris, or moisture, and keep them away from our cargo that's loaded into our hatch area.
Now, this mat is constructed of a rubberized, thermoplastic material which won't crack, fade, or break over the course of time. It is chemically resistant to most automotive chemicals, such as oil, gasoline, and battery acid. If you have a spill of one of those things inside the hatch of your vehicle, you don't have to worry about it eating through the mat and damaging your carpet underneath. Now that we've gone over some features of our WeatherTech mat, we'll show you how easy it is to install. That's it. Our mats are super easy to clean too.
If we have a minor spill, we can just wipe it down with a damp cloth. If they're exceptionally dirty, we can remove them from the vehicle, use some soap and water if we need to.
