Hello, neighbor, this is Curt with etrailer and today we're gonna take a look at the WeatherTech HP custom floor mats and we're gonna see how they fit in our 2025 Jeep Wagoneer. Now, protecting your factory carpet can be a really big priority, especially since, you know, replacing it is pretty much out of the question. Somewhere down the line, you're probably gonna wanna sell this and get another car. So being able to keep everything in as top condition as you can is a huge bonus. And in the front row, where usually you're gonna have the passenger, obviously in the driver, you'll always have somebody there, but that carpet there can get really, really messed up, especially on the driver's side where you got your heels digging in and working the pedals. You could put holes in the carpet, wear it through.
Even the factory mats can get worn through doing that kind of thing. And the factory mats don't really give us a whole lot of coverage at all either. They're not gonna do anything as far as moisture and water, you know, if you have snow melt or mud or anything like that. They're just not gonna do a really good job of protecting that factory carpet. And that's where the WeatherTech HP custom floor mats are going to come in.
This is a rubberized thermoplastic, so it's flexible, but it's still stiff enough to keep its shape. You're gonna get a much higher coverage on the inside along the sidewall here. It's gonna go all the way up under our pedals and even cover the dead pedal itself. It's going to snap in by anchor, so it's not gonna slide around for you at all. And even if it does pop out on one of those, it's studded underneath here to keep a good grip on your carpet.
The other thing that it has are these channels and ridges, and they're raised really, really well. So the great thing about that is you'll be able to have your foot on here and any kind of runoff, be it water or snow melt or mud or anything like that, is gonna run through these channels and collect in this reservoir down here and generally be out of the way. The other great thing too is when we get it in the door here, you're gonna see that it actually overlaps a little bit on the door threshold, so it makes it easy to wipe it out and out the door. But just to give you an idea of the difference in coverage that you're gonna get, if I'm gonna go ahead and line up the factory with the snap down anchors here, you'll see that it's gonna have much higher coverage along the sidewall, up under the pedals, the dead pedal itself, even go underneath the seat a bit more than what the factory would. And you can see here that even being a year old, there's already a bit of wear and tear on these factory mats.
But let's go ahead and put it in and see how it fits. So we're just gonna slide this in, make sure it gets up underneath our pedals here. And you could tell this is a custom mat. Every contour in here fits just perfectly, even down here at the seat. It bows out really well. And as you can see, everything is gonna slope down into this reservoir here. I had mentioned as well that, you know, it's gonna overlap the door threshold. So if you need to wipe anything out, you can do that without removing the mat itself. It's gonna have these snap-down anchors to keep it in place, but, again, that texture that's underneath here gives it a really good grip to not let it slip around on us. But yes, again, like a lot of coverage under here. Honestly, there's nowhere that I think your shoes or boots would actually hit that this isn't covering. And this is gonna be much, much more durable than that carpet factory mat that you get. And we're gonna have something really similar here on the passenger side. It's gonna have much better coverage going up underneath the dash here. It's gonna come all the way back and slope up on the carpet underneath the seat. So, again, there's not really anything over here as far as exposed factory carpet where I really think that your shoes or boots are gonna be making contact with it. This is just gonna give us great all around coverage. And one more thing about the HP floor mats as opposed to the standard floor mats, what that really is gonna give you is a higher sidewall in the inside here by about an inch. So if you're somebody that wears boots or, you know, if you really are somebody that's out and in the muck a whole lot and you're just tired of making a mess in your car, the HP floor mats are just gonna give you that higher sidewall coverage. And you should also know that these are gonna come in a variety of colors. We're looking at the black today, but there is likely a color available that is gonna best match your interior.
